ZAGG invisibleSHIELD Macbook
Manufacturer: invisibleSHIELD
Site: Buy from invisibleSHIELD
Price: $54.95 (full body coverage); $39.95 (standard coverage); $24.95 (wrist rest coverage); $17.95 (battery coverage)
Overview : Your search for a(n) Apple MacBook 13 inch case, skin, or cover is now over. The invisibleSHIELD™ is an exceptionally clear and virtually indestructible film that will protect your MacBook 13 inch from unsightly scratches. Our exclusive nano-memory™ technology covers and shields your device, keeping it as pristine as the day you took it out of the box.
The precision pre-cut invisibleSHIELD applies directly to your MacBook 13 inch, providing the toughest, most durable protection you will find. The invisibleSHIELD has its origins in the military, where it was used to protect high-speed helicopter blades from dust, dirt and debris. Now you can use that same powerful technology to protect your MacBook 13 inch.
The invisibleSHIELD is only .2 millimeters thick making it the slimmest MacBook 13 inch skin or MacBook 13 inch cover of its kind. It is so tough that we back it with a lifetime guarantee. So, if it ever does wear or scratch, we will replace it for free, for the life of your device. And if you ever need to remove the invisibleSHIELD, no problem; it comes off clean and leaves no sticky residue.
If you're still not convinced, check out our demo video and see for yourself how strong the invisibleSHIELD™ really is.
Features:- Full Body coverage: Top, bottom, wrist rest, track pad and mouse button(s).
- Standard coverage: Top, wrist rest, track pad and mouse button(s).
- Wrist Rest coverage: Wrist Rest only.
- Battery coverage: Battery only.
Quality/Usability : I thought I would spice up the reviews with something not gaming related.
I've been wanting to protect my 13.3" Black Macbook from scratches or marks and possibly give it that glossy look but still keep its cool black color. Since its black, its more visible and noticeable if it there was a blemish so I thought I'd give ZAGG's invisibleSHIELD for the 13" Macbook a try. You've probably have either heard of invisibleSHIELD or seen some form of their advertisement such as key scratching ipod, pen trying to go through invisibleSHIELD. They protect everything from your precious iPods, to cellphones to cameras and even your PSP.
invisibleSHIELD comes in a cardboard tube. Inside the tube are two complimentary bottled solutions (just water), squeegee, instructions and 3 invisibleSHIELD sheets. One sheet contains the cover, second sheet contains the battery and bottom and the third sheet contains the wrist rest, button and trackpad. All invisibleSHIELD products are clear giving you the ultimate protection without changing the looks.
I've installed numerous DecalGirl skins on consoles and those were easy. Even if you messed up, peeling and reapplying was easy. So I thought this would be a walk through the park....boy was I wrong. First, they suggest washing your hands so that your fingerprints arent all over the sticky side of the invisibleSHIELD. OK, I have no problem with that. Next, spray your fingerstips with the SHIELDspray (its just regular water) and peel the invisibleSHIELD off the paper backing. Once peeled off, hold the invisibleSHIELD in your hands with the adhesive side up. Lightly spray the front (instructions states to spray back also, why? I dont know) of the invisibleSHIELD. DO NOT spray on the laptop itself. Once you have applied water to the invisibleSHIELD. Apply it to your laptop and slide it into place. STOP! What they didnt mention is that this method is for glossy Macbook's. My Black Macbook is matte. Its not glossy like the white ones. Had it been glossy, installation would have been a lot smoother. So sliding into place on a matte surface would be very hard to do as the invisibleSHIELD grips onto the matte casing. Since I can not slide into place, I had to lift up the invisibleSHIELD. Use the squeegee to push the excess moisture and bubbles away from the center to the edges. Again, it was impossible with the Black Macbook.
Since I'm a perfectionist and a bit anal when it comes to things like this, I had to lift and re-align the invisibleSHIELD multiple times on the cover. Just when I thought I had it, it was uneven. So I had to take the whole part off and reapply. Doing this also stretched out the invisibleSHIELD. So when I finally had it aligned correctly on three sides of the cover. The fourth side was too long. No way for me to even it out.
The battery was easier as the invisibleSHIELD piece was small and easier to handle. Same goes for the rest of the bottom invisibleSHIELD. But you would think that the wrist rest, button and trackpad would be even easier. Wrong. The illustrated image at the top from invisibleSHIELD shows that the wrist/trackpad area should be four piece. The piece I received was one big piece. I couldnt even take the trackpad or button piece off. You can see the indentation or semi-cut out but was unable to remove it or tear it apart thanks to invisibleSHIELD's guarantee. Even using a box cutter to try and separate the pieces wouldnt work. So I thought to myself that maybe its suppose to be like that. I applied it but since its one big piece, when clicking on the button, it wouldnt work normal because its attached to the remainder of the invisibleSHIELD.
Conclusion : Overall, the ZAGG invisibleSHIELD Macbook is very durable but the application would not work well at all with the matte Black Macbook. Installation of the invisibleSHIELD was a pain and cumbersome. The poor indentation or cut out to separate the trackpad, wrist rest and button was poorly done. What would of been best would be to include a disclaimer or warning that the invisibleSHIELD would not work best with the Black Macbook due to its matte finish. Luckily, my friend was over and brought their White Macbook. I took the cover, battery and bottom invisibleSHIELD and applied it to the white Macbook. Installation was a whole lot smoother as it was easier to glide on the glossy casing. invisibleSHIELD is intended more for the White Macbook since it is prone to scratching but not for the Black Macbook.
The Lifetime Guarantee unfortunately only covers the product. They claim its scratch resistant, so if it scratches, they'll replace it. If you mess up, thats user/installer error.
The invisibleSHIELD™ purchase includes a lifetime replacement guarantee. We want you to feel safe and secure when investing in your digital life, and are confident that the invisibleSHIELD™ is the strongest and most durable protection you will find. Purchasing an invisibleSHIELD™ will protect your investment for the life of your device.
The lifetime replacement guarantee is simply what it says. If your invisibleSHIELD™ ever becomes scratched, torn or damaged in any way while protecting your device, we will replace the invisibleSHIELD™ for free, for life.

Do your evenings typically consist of you perching your overweight frame on the couch, slurping down microwaveable pizzas between guttural sobs of despair? If so, the compact device above could be the way to a healthier, leaner you. Why? Because that's the pedometer that will ship with Ubisoft's My Weight Loss Coach, silly!
We've already stated how much we like this game's simple-yet-elegant visual style, and My Weight Loss Coach's pedometer only elevates it further above more standard training fare on the DS. The idea is straightforward enough: keep the pedometer on your person all day, letting it count every step you take, then plug it into the GBA slot of your DS and let the software analyze how much blubber you've burned off. Pretty soon, you'll look a bit like this guy, right down to the toned arms and rictus grin. Excellent!
This should be arriving in Europe this summer, so until then you'll have to breathe in sharply if you want to squeeze into the gallery below.

EDGE Card DS SLOT-1 MicroSDHC
Manufacturer: EDGE
Site: Buy from Colourful Zone / Buy from Colourful Zone (Kingston 4GB MicroSDHC)
Price: $41.99 (EDGE) / $49.99 (4GB MicroSDHC)
Overview : EDGE is a multi functional media adapter for NDS. It accepts MicroSD and MicroSDHC cards. EDGE allows use of Homebrew DS applications, multimedia (via Moonshell) and commercial NDS applications via the SD interface. EDGE is easy to use, just load the EDGE OS (download from support section) onto the MicroSD together with your favourite applications, plug into EDGE then insert the EDGE cartridge into the DS and you're ready to go!
Features:- Supports MicroSDHC cards up to 32GB
- Plays Commercial NDS ROM
- Plays Homebrew NDS ROMS
- Touch to execute OS system
- Works with Moonshell for multimedia playback such as movies and MP3's
- Frequently updated OS for best compatibility
- Action Replay compatible cheat system
- Brighntess adjustment for NDSL
- In game reset
- Full download play support
- Supports slot 2 expansions
- Multi language user interface
- Save game saves directly to Micro SD
- Automatic save game type detection
- Supports clean ROMs
- Robust non-spring loaded Micro SD slot
- Micro SDHC card reader included
Quality/Usability : The first thing you'll notice is the unique design of the packaging of the EDGE Card DS. Its nothing something we usually see with other flash carts. The packaging isnt your usual square or rectangular. Its in the shape of a triangle and held closed with a EDGE elastic band. The packaging itself is made of 4 cardboards pieces glued on top of each other with the cover being a sheet of cardboard held together with a single screw. The back of the packaging gives you instructions on how to setup the EDGE.
As mentioned above, instructions are on the back of the packaging due to the unique design. There is no way to place instruction booklets or even CD with necessary files. However, you can download EDGE OS files from their website. The EDGE contains a MicroSDHC card reader and EDGE Slot-1 Card.
The EDGE card is a 1:1 sized DS Cart. In other words, its exactly the same size as an original DS game. Like most flash carts, the front usually has a slight bump protruding under the sticky which is usually the chip but with the EDGE, its not really noticeable when you look at it. You can feel the chip underneath the sticker but very slightly. The MicroSD card is inserted at the top but is not spring loaded.
Since the EDGE supports SDHC (up to 32GB), Colourful Zone was nice enough to supply us with a Kingston 4GB MicroSDHC card and the EDGE had no problem reading the MicroSD.
Setup is probably as easy as it gets. As mentioned, since EDGE does not come with a CD with software, you will have to download the EDGE OS files from their website. The firmware file consists of a "EDGE.dat" file and a "EDGE" folder. The folder contains a "cheat.dat" that contains cheat codes for DS games. Once EDGE OS is set up, a "config.xml" is generated and this will store all your settings.
Upon boot up, the EDGE bypasses the Nintendo DS menu and brings you to the EDGE GUI. The first thing that I noticed is that it resembles CycloDS Evolution. Like all other flash carts, you are given three menus; Games/Homebrew, Media and Settings/Misc.
What is nice about the EDGE is that it doesnt show all the files on the MicroSD. It only shows .nds files which also sorts them alphabetically. Press the "X" button or tapping the top right corner, you can view three different display modes; View: ROM (title and icon), View: File (title, icon and file size) and View: List (name of file). Pressing the "A" button or tapping the file with your stylus will load the game. Pressing "B" or tapping folder icon at the top will bring you back to the main menu.
Media will load Moonshell and this will allow you to play your media files whether it be music or videos.
In the settings menu, you can enable or disable cheat codes, change brightness setting, language, skins and boot a Slot-2 device (PassMe). The skins option allows you to place skins into the "EDGE/skins" directory on the MicroSDHC and cycle through them whenever you want. It is compatible with CycloDS skins..go figure. To perform a soft reset, you'll have to press A+B+X+Y+L+R.
Both DS games and homebrew all loaded without a problem. EDGE supports auto-DLDI patching for homebrew games. EDGE also uses 512k save for all your DS games. The save files are identical and compatible with some other flash carts. So if you're the type to try different cards, you dont have to worry about losing your game saves or having to start all over.
Conclusion : Overall, the EDGE Card DS SLOT-1 MicroSDHC flew under the radar. The cart, design and name is all new but the GUI looks exactly like a clone of CycloDS Evolution (could it be the same people or just another group copying files?). All games and homebrew loaded fine. With the support for MicroSDHC, this is a card to look at if you're interested in purchasing a flash cart.
Please note that none of the "upgrade" products listed in this site are endorsed by Nintendo, Sony and/or Microsoft. DCEmu Reviews and DCEmu Network does not condone piracy. The primary functions of a "modchip" and/or "flashcart" are to allow you to play imported games and homebrew software that you legally own or simply just for experimenting with hardware. We in no way endorse piracy, and encourage all users to do the right thing and support the developers/manufacturers that support them. We do not take any responsibilities for any use outside of these parameters or where the use of such a device is illegal.

Another month, another color for the Japanese PSP. The latest addition to the multi racial portable family is "Matte Bronze," a limited edition color that will arrive on April 24 along with a couple of new accessories.
Unlike most of the PSP color variations, Sony Japan has decided to release the bronze system exclusively as a Value Pack bundle. In addition to the PSP-2000 hardware, the package will include a pouch, a strap, a cloth, a 32 megabyte Memory Stick, and a D cable for hooking up the system to a television. This is the first time Sony has included a television cable with a PSP bundle.
Pricing for the bundle is set at 23,800 yen.
Coinciding with the bronze color variation, Sony will release a couple of new accessories for the portable. The company will release the PSP-S360 cradle at 4,800 yen. In addition to simplifying the charging process a bit, this device includes a small remote control, allowing you to remotely control your PSP.
Sony will also bundle the cradle with a D-cable in a 6,500 yen pack, making it even easier to use the PSP as a media device. Both accessories will arrive on 4/24.

In related news with Bungie helping a gamer whos Xbox 360 was completely cleaned off of memorable autographs and custom art, Epic Games, who is known for well known Gears of War, has also shown that they also think and care for gamers.
I wont get into the whole detail but a gaming and forum buddy of mine, we'll call him "CAP", came into some trouble. Worse than what happened to the wiped down Xbox 360. "CAP" was left for dead, bloodied and robbed. Thats what happens when you're drunk and ask the wrong stranger for a ride.
As a community, a bunch of fellow forum buddies decided to help donate to make "CAP" feel better and keep his hopes up. We scrounged up money and even thought of what to get him..whether it be gifts or to help pay hospital bills. A person thought of writing to Epic Games in regards to the situation since "CAP" is a huge Gears of War fan and I mean HUGE. He bleeds Gears of War. Hell, he should change his name to Gears of War. After much editing, agreeing and disagreeing, we finalized the letter and set it to Epic Games.
Couple days later, Cliff Bleszinski from Epic Games commented on his Facebook page. Next thing you know it, he receives a package and whats inside? Signed Gears of War artbook, Gears of War t-shirt and Gears of War Collectors Edition for the Xbox 360.
Epic Games definitely cares about their gamers and fans. They look out for their fans and not only about making money. I've even heard they sent him flowers as well. I commend Epic Games for taking the time and to actually reach out and help keep a gamers motivation going and to lift their spirits and hopes. This shows that they have heart that flows blood and not green of money...or ooze.
Epic Games, you're OK in my book! TNL Crew, you're the best bunch of gamers I've met and glad to be a part of it. "CAP", get well and glad that you're doing good.

You can't say that Bungie doesn't look out for its fans.
The Next-Gen blog posted a story recently about an Xbox fan whose Xbox 360 had been signed by key Halo and Xbox figures over the course of about two years. That Xbox 360 encountered the dreaded Red Ring of Death, and the Xbox fan, "Nathaniel," had to send it in for service.
And even though a service rep assured him on the phone that the signatures would be intact upon return of the console (and the fact that he included a letter clearly stating the console's importance), the Xbox 360 came back wiped virtually clean, with just a few black smudges left from the ink that adorned the console.
But now Bungie is ready to take action.
"Something is already 'afoot' within Bungie to help our community member in need," Bungie community director Brian Jarrard told Next-Gen on Monday. "Our team and the community as a whole is rallying to help fix this unfortunate situation. It’s been awesome to see such an outpouring of sympathy and support from our community. We can't replace the exact item that was lost but, but we should come very close.
Jarrard is still keeping Bungie's plans under wraps but one can imagine what kind of consolation prize a studio of Bungie's influence and financial stature could provide.
"I think when it’s all said and done, justice will prevail," said Jarrard.

With the announcement of the Freeloader for Wii, more questions have been raised about how exactly the disc will run, how firmware updates will be handled and more. According to an email sent to Datel, here are some additional information...- WII FREELOADER IGNORES ALL REGION-CODING.
- WII FREELOADER IGNORES ALL WII UPDATES ON A WII GAME DISK (INCLUDING SUPER SMASH BROS. BRAWL).
- WII FREELOADER IGNORES THE NECESSITY OF CHECKING FOR GAME UPDATES; THUS ALLOWING THE GAME FILES TO BE PLAYED SAFELY WITHOUT ANY RISK OF BRICKING YOUR WII CONSOLE.
- CODEJUNKIES STAFF HAVE CONFIRMED TO ME, BY PHONE, THAT IF A WII FIRMWARE UPDATE SOMEHOW BLOCKS THE WII FREELOADER, THEY WILL SEND YOU AN UPDATED WII FREELOADER FREE OF CHARGE WHEN ONE IS CREATED, AS LONG AS YOU HAVE PROOF OF PURCHASE OF YOUR ORIGINAL COPY OF WII FREELOADER.
Below is high-res box art of the WiiFreeloader.
You can place your order for the Wii FreeLoader at Divineo UK and other retailers such as Play-Asia (US / PAL / JPN). To clarify, there will be ONE (1) disc for all regions. Play-Asia made a mistake by posting one for each region. I'm linking to all three as we're unsure if Play-Asia will remove the other two products or keep them.

Our good friends over at Goozex is offering FREE trades for the month of March! What this means is that during the month of March, any trades you do between March 1, 2008 to April 1, 2008, you will not be charged a trade credit. The only thing that you will be charged for is trade value points of the game.
Hey everyone,
The entire month of March is FREE TRADES MONTH! To celebrate our success over the past few months we wanted to give back to the community and offer free trades.
That means you do not need trade credits to get games. In other words, you only need points to get the games you want. We know this is a member favorite and it's our early 2008 gift of gratitute to you.
But you better hurry to make those trades and tell your friends because this ends on April 1st, 2008. Remember you also get free 100 points and a trade credit for every active member you invite!
I personally love Goozex's trading system. I honestly have to say, that I have gotten rid of games that EBGames/GameStop and even eBay either wouldnt take or sell. Posting it on Goozex, I was able to get rid of them...even if they were only a worth 100 points. So if you're looking to unload some wanted games and dont feel like either being ripped off by chain stores or want to deal with the hassle of buyers backing out, fees, etc. and want some new fresh games, I suggest checking out Goozex. This is only available for US and Canadian residents.

Its actually an annoying story how I stumbled onto this one. I went to Blockbuster's to rent a game, and lo and behold they don't have Assassin's Creed, which i wanted. Or DMC4, CoD4, Eternal Sonata, Dynasty Warriors 6, or even Warriors Orochi. So, I chose between Lost Odyssey and Naruto Rise of a Ninja, Guess who won.
Anyway, N:R of a N is a little hard to classify. Its an RPG, adventure, action, fighting game. So, ahem....
The presentation is good, and not so good. Half the menus look great and are easily navigated, the other half are kinda glitchy. The symbols attribute to this, as half the time, I can't tell what they even mean. For a long time I thought a bowl of ramen was some kinda of blotch, just artistic license. Despite this, it detracts very little from the games smooth presentation. Story is...well, the show. So really, if you've seen the show, this game is all about gameplay. But if you haven't, this is a very good storyline, if not a little butchered.
The graphics are easily the best looking Naruto game out there. Cell shaded characters models with very smooth animations. Backgrounds too look quite nice, although the shading is a little...interesting at times. As far as I have seen, little to no slowdown occurs. Ever. Jutsus and effects too are amazingly done. Though when in the overworld, you can usually find as least 4 of the same people within a mile radius (a bit of length) of the villages. Speaking of which, the overworld looks great, if not a little repetitive. But then again, the whole village is supposed to be of one architectural type, and it works pretty well. I could live without the skippy anime cutscenes.
Sound is hit and miss. The voice overs for most characters are great, while a good many characters have totally new voices that are either weird or creepily done.Grunts, explosions, punches, all the sound effects are well done. Repetitive voices get annoying after a while.
Gameplay is a wide variety ranging from great to average. The overworld was a very nice addition, as its quite large (this is no San Andreas though.), even if a lot of areas are just the same. Its kind of like a kid GTA. Still, quests are plentiful, and all around theres a lot to do here. The more jutsus you learn, the more places you can reach, too. But jutsus aren't just overworld. These jutsus(like artes in tales, magic in final fantasy, and in just about every other game too.) can all be use in combat too. Speaking of which, each time you encounter an enemy, It turns into a classic fighting. The fighting system works too; its fairly well balanced. the way jutsus work, too, is very well implemented. Not all the action takes place in the combat system, though. There are also small races you have to accomplish, where you have to get to a certain point in a certain amount of time, and tree hopping, and hide and seek....theres alot bit more then just fighting. mini versions of dungeons exist, where you avoid traps while having occasional fights. Plus, you can be more then just Naruto in story mode too, at least, thats what I can tell from achievements.
Theres plenty to do after you've finished story mode, like playing other peoples story's and doing side quests. If thats not enough for you, you've also got an online mode where you can battle your friends in ninja tournaments. Upgrading your attacks and skills are another way to continue playing.
Now down to the score.
Presentation: 3.5/5
Menus, good, story, good, just about all the presentation is good. Not great, not bad, but good.
Sound: 3.5/5
Does get repetitive, but sound effects and "most" voice acting is spot on.
Graphics: 4/5
Great cell shaded character models and well-drawn backgrounds. Naruto made a great transition into the next-gen.
Gameplay: 4/5
The free roam, the combat system and the leveling system all work nicely. A bit of annoying things and glitches here and there, but not many. Free roam isn't huge like San Andreas, but its fair sized. Unfortunately, you can't throw people out of their cars. Sad.
Replay Value: 4/5
If you like this game, theres a ton to do, between online play and other story modes. If you don't, well....your a really tough crowd.
Overall:
Deciding between an 8 and 8.5, I reached a climax. Everything works in the game, although nothing is really all too inspired.
