SINGAPORE, 29 Apr 2007 (Mon) Did we hear you guys wanting to light up the Wiimote (other than the trigger button)? Ermm...I think you might as well electrify the whole wiimote into an explosion of lights with the release of the Strat Clear Wiimote Replacement Case (In-Stock)! We heard everything about modding the heck out of the wiimotes to enable it to control robots, affect CT scan devices and even the microwave oven. But let's face it, even a scientist will get bored of the whitish-ness of the stock shell. First to offer a transparent wiimote in the market, Xtreme Enterprise will be rolling out other colors in time to come. Look out gamers, cos we're just about to color your world! Go to our Wii-Shop to make your purchase now!

Here is an image, of another peripheral gun for the Wii called "Wii Blaster". Now, dont confuse it with the Wii Blaster from JoyTech. It seems that GameStop has a new "Wii Blaster". Scheduled for release on June 26 by a company called Core Gamer, the Blaster houses the Wiimote in a casing shaped like a shotgun.
Looking at the other products that Core Gamer makes it will just be a housing similar to that of their Sports accessory pack and controller grip.

Sony PSP-290 GPS Receiver
Manufacturer: Sony
Site : Buy from Goldenshop.com.hk
Price: $59.99
Overview : The position measurement system “GPS which utilizes the radio wave from the satellite (Global Positioning System)” in PSP®. PSP® furthermore evolves conveniently by combining PSP® exclusive use “GPS receiver” with the corresponding software. The various software appear, from practical tool such as navigation software and the action game which utilize the function only of GPS to the game.
Specs : - Reception frequency: 1575.42Mhz (L1 band, C/A cord/code)
- Reception method: Channel 20
- Reception sensitivity: Pursuit: - 153dBm; Supplementation: - 140dBm
- Determination renewal time: Approximately 1 second
- Determination precision: 5m (2DRMS, - 130dBm)
- External size: Approximately 45 × 41 × 17mm (width x height x depth)
- Mass: Approximately 16g
- Contents ones: GPS receiver ×1; Private case ×1
Software that uses GPS Receiver (Japanese games only) :- Portable Homestar (SEGA)
- Metal Gear Solid Portable OPS (Konami)
- Hot Shots Golf 2 (aka Minna no Golf Ba - SONY)
- MAPLUS: Portable Navi (Edia)
- Minna no Map 2 (Zenrin)
- MapThis! (Homebew app by Deniska)
Quality/Usability : Sony released the PSP-290 GPS Receiver in Japan in March 2006. Since than, no other country has received the GPS device. Software? Japan only. The only map applications released for the PSP-290 was MAPLUS: Portable Navi and Minna no Map 2 which were released only in Japan. A couple of games also use the GPS device, Metal Gear Solid Portable OPS, Hot Shots Golf 2 and Portable Homestar. Games will also work in the US and US games (if available) as well but is aimed more towards Japanese gamers as the PSP-290 is only released in Japan.
North America and Europeans were left out to scratch their heads and wonder to themselves, when are we going to get our own? There is no release date planned. With that said, since Sony has not released this product anywhere other than Japan, this review is only based on the use of MapThis! by DCEmu's very own, Deniska. While the application is still being worked on everyday, it is not perfect. Deniska and other contributors are working hard each day trying to improve MapThis! and include features for future versions.
You can make your own maps from Google Maps or Microsoft Virtual Earth by using in7ane's Window map download tool here.
The PSP-290 GPS Receiver is fairly small. It attaches to the USB port on top of the PSP and is held in place with two screws. The antenna can be placed in several positions whether it be up or closed. Using Deniska's MapThis! app, it takes about anywhere from 30 seconds to a couple of minutes for the GPS Receiver to lock on to some satellites depending on your location. Also, considering MapThis! is not by Sony, there will be some issues but Deniska is working hard, day and night to resolve issues.
Conclusion : Overall, the Sony PSP-290 GPS Receiver is a nice product but the support is lacking. The GPS Receiver is only available in Japan with no release date for North America or Europe. MapThis! is the only app for non-Japanese users. The reception is not as strong compared to an actual GPS receiver such as Holux. With the PSP-290 attached to the PSP, it would not fit in a PlayGear Pocket or any hardcases. Luckily, Sony included a little plastic case to hold the GPS Receiver.
I would love to see Sony actually release the product in other countries. This will definitely bring more hardware sales for the PSP. But for the time being, we have MapThis! and I can not wait to see what new features Deniska has planned (hint: turn by turn sound)

Do you remember seeing that unique, one of a kind, Nintendo Wii with the Zelda Sword and Shield for sale on eBay that went for over $1,200? Here is an image to refresh your memory...
Well, now that same seller has done pretty much the same for the Nintendo DS. He took a Onyx Nintendo DS Lite, painted it gold, added a Zelda Shield with LED lights and painted the charger gold to match the DS Lite. The shield will only light up when it is charging in the dock to save battery life during play.
Here is the link to his eBay auction.

it seems thats Nintendo has warned Korea of piracy.
The giant game maker Nintendo has given Korea a strong warning against piracy of its game consoles and programs here. The Japanese game maker on Thursday vowed tougher legal action against Korean copiers of its game machines and programs. It is the first time Nintendo has issued such a strong warning against the violation of its copyright.
It plans to take legal action even against websites that simply turn a blind eye to illegal downloading as well as makers and sellers of copied products. A spokesman of Nintendo Korea expressed concern about the losses to the company from piracy.

Penguin United PS2/PS3/Wii/Xbox360 Multi-Console Component Cable

Overview : Fully Compatible with Xbox 360™, Wii™, PS3™ , PS2™ and any TV system with component input. The Final High-Definition Solution for all your Next Generation Gaming Consoles. Avoid the Hassle of switching cables behind your television or dealing with tangled cables from all your Consoles, not to mention the saving from buying 1 cable instead of 3. Support D2 (480i/480p); (720i/720p) & D4 (1080i/ 1080p) technology. Actual resolution displayed will be determined by the technology supported by the Console in use.
The three AV plugs for each console should NOT be connected to their respective consoles simultaneously. Only one console should be connected for the cable to function properly. If more than one consoles are connected, even if it is set to "off" loss of audio or video may occure, but there will not be any damages done to the console.
Cable is 8 foot long or 2.4 meter in length.
Features : - Support Component Signal (Stereo Function)
- Support AV Signal (Stereo Function)
- High Quality and High Speed for Transfer Signal.
- Support Dolby Prologic.
- Support DTS 5.1 Channel System.
- Support DOLBY Digital and Surround Sound
- Support Stereo Sound
- Support Optical Signal (Xbox 360)
- Compatible with Surround Receiver or Integrated Amplifier
- Support CRT, Plasma, LCD or any HDTV System
- Support D2 (480i/480P); (720i/720P) & D4 (1080 i/1080 P) technology.
Quality/Usability : This is the second multi-console component cable we will be reviewing. The first review coming from XCM. We have reviewed a couple of Penguin United's Wii Component Cables already ( Regular / Gold / Premium). All of them were pretty good for a new 3rd party peripheral manufacturer.
There are three plugs for your console: Xbox360, Wii, PS2/PS3. On the other end are the AV inputs that connect to your TV. Unlike the XCM multi-console component cable, there is no switch on the cable that allows you to switch to whatever system you are going to play with. You will have to plug each plug into the system if you want to play with the console.
The visual quality of each system is pretty good when connected one by one. I didnt notice much of a difference between this cable or the standalone component cable that you purchase separately for each system.
The cable itself is fairly long measuring approximately 8 feet long. The cables for each console once split from the cable itself is fairly long enough but you will still have to have your consoles near each other.
Conclusion : Overall, the Penguin United PS2/PS3/Wii/Xbox360 Multi-Console Component Cable is another alternative to those looking to eliminate cables and is looking for a all-in-one source. The quality of the product is great just like all of the other products Penguin United offers. My only complaint was having to insert the plug into the console I want to play each time. Would of been nice if there was a switch of some sort where I can easily switch back and forth without having to keep on removing the cables.

Quality/Usability : The G6 Flash Team has finally released their G6DS Real after announcing the product over 4 months ago. The G6DS Real comes in a box with a plastic holder. Item was shipped in a regular envelope so the packaging got squashed during transit. Hopefully, resellers will package the item in a box to prevent damage during transit. In the box are the following items you would get:
- G6DS Real 8Gb Flash Cartridge
- G6DS Real card reader / writer
- USB cable
- Mini-CD Software disc
- Blue rubber protective case
As listed above, it is suppose to include a mini-cd with G6 Real software but I never received one. It was probably left out during packaging. Its OK though because you dont really need it as you can download it from their site (link further down in review).
The G6DS Real comes in only one color, grey. Like all other Slot-1 flash carts, it is exactly the same size of that of the Nintendo DS cartridges. Only difference is that the bottom back of the cart where it shows the chipset, it doesnt have plastic pin separators like the Nintendo DS cartridges. The plastic pin separators help guide the connections.
Considering the G6DS Real uses NAND memory and does not use any external memory cards, to transfer data to and from the PC, a USB linker is included. One end is the male USB connector and the other end is the female DS slot. On the top of the linker is a blue LED. This will let you know when data is being transferred. Do not remove the DS cart when the light is flashing/on. Since the linker is fairly big, the G6 team has included a USB extension cable for those tight spots where the linker wont be able to fit.
To get the G6DS Real running, like all other flash carts, you'll need the necessary files to run the SLOT-1 card. You can download the latest files from G6 Flash or from linfox. Connect the USB linker which is now black, not blue as pictured, to your PC and insert the G6DS Real. Your computer will now recognize it as a REMOVABLE STORAGE. Once the computer has recognized the G6, extract the latest files to the root of the G6DS (example X:\SYSTEM). This is pretty much the same process for the M3 Simply, R4DS, SuperCard DS One and any other flash carts. Copying of files is a simple drag and drop process. To place your NDS games, they will need to be placed in a folder called "NDS".
Once everything is placed onto the G6DS Real and you boot it up, you are given the TouchPod menu and features. The TouchPod is very responsive and accurate when selecting games and menus. The G6DS Real allows you to have up to five (5) skins. The skins are stored in the "SYSTEM" folder and consists of 22 .BMP images. The skins are selectable under the "SETTINGS" menu.
In the TouchPod, you are given a "NDS Game" tab. This menu tab contains the following
- NDS Game – Boot your .NDS games and configure soft-reset and Action Replay cheat options (only files in the “NDS” folder in the root directory).
- My Card – Browse files on G6DS Real and boot .NDS files without extra features.
- pdaDS – Starts the PDA application, which is the same software from the previous M3/G6 slot 2 devices.
- MediaPlay - Extend - A modified version of Moonshell for multimedia playback such as MP3s, videos, read TXT and see images.
- Boot – Lets you to boot slot 2 devices in either DS or GBA modes. Can be used to boot older slot 2 flashcarts or play GBA games.
- Settings – (2 options available) Allows you to change G6DS Real loader settings such as boot mode (bypass the DS menu) and skin selection (choose from 5 skins).
Every game we loaded onto the G6DS Real and tested it, worked without a problem or any slowdowns. As for homebrew, the G6DS Real has no "official" DLDI driver at the moment. the G6 team has stated that it is being worked on. The G6 team has emailed me and released the G6/M3 DS Real FAT Lib v1.0, which allows homebrew developers to create a DLDI driver for homebrew games and applications. Since there are no DLDI drivers available at the moment, the only homebrew games or applications I was able to run where the ones that did not require FAT access.
Conclusion : Overall, the G6 Flash G6DS Real SLOT-1 (1GB) is a well designed product but has some flaws. With the lack of homebrew support for the moment, this may turn some customers away. Although majority of the games I tested worked great, the claim of "100% Download Play" comes up short. I was unable to get a couple of games to work such as Clubhouse Games, Mario Kart DS and a few others.
Since the G6DS Real does not allow expandable memory such as microSD cards and being limited to only 1GB may not be OK with some customers, while others are fine with it. The G6DS Real also comes in 16Gb (2GB) as well for those who want bigger storage.
If the G6 team can improve on the compatibility of some games and get the DLDI driver for homebrew games and applications, this would definitely be at the top of the list as a MUST get product.
Please note that none of the "upgrade" products listed in this site are endorsed by Nintendo, Sony and/or Microsoft. DCEmu Reviews and DCEmu Network does not condone piracy. The primary functions of a "modchip" and/or "flashcart" are to allow you to play imported games and homebrew software that you legally own or simply just for experimenting with hardware. We in no way endorse piracy, and encourage all users to do the right thing and support the developers/manufacturers that support them. We do not take any responsibilities for any use outside of these parameters or where the use of such a device is illegal.

Wii Remote Charge 'N Play
Manufacturer: Unknown
Site: Buy from Goldenshop.com.hk
Price: $17.00
Overview : The Charge 'N Play converts your Wii Remote into a rechargeable gaming remote. The Charge 'N Play features a USB charging dock that keeps your Wii Remote charging when not in use. With Charge 'N Play, drained batteries are a thing of the past.
Features : - High quality 3rd party product.
- Comes with a rechargeable battery for the Wii remote control - no need to take out the battery when charging.
- USB socket on the charger stand - another charger stand can be connected at the same time.
- No need to add extra power supply - get the power from the USB port of the Wii console.
Quality/Usability : With the flood of rechargeable battery packs hitting the market, there has been different styles and different kinds.
The Charge 'N Play is a little different than all the other rechargeable batteries. The Charge 'N Play comes with a rechargeable battery and a dock. The dock has a USB cord that can plug into a USB port whether it be your computer or your Nintendo Wii.
The dock has two hooks on the left side that can attach to another dock (of course they need to be the same type). The right side has two openings for those hooks to be clipped onto another dock. On the front of the dock is a small LED. The LED is red when the battery is charging and blue when it is done.
What is unique about the Charge 'N Play is that you can either charge the battery with the Wii-mote or you can just charge the battery pack. Other rechargeable battery packs on the market require the battery to be on the remote control in order for it to charge.
The dock has two levels. The "upper level" is for the battery pack and Wii-mote. If you have a controller glove also known as rubber skin on the Wii-mote, you will need to remove it or lift the bottom high enough that it does not block the dock. The "lower level" is big enough just to fit the battery pack. The battery pack stays in place by pushing its clip itself against the upper level. Sometimes it does take a few tries to get it correctly in place. Once in place, it is snug and wont come out.
Charge time is approximately 2 hours. Once fully charged, the battery lasts for about 3-4 hours on continuous play and approximately 5-6 days with on and off play (approximately 30-60 mins a day).
Conclusion : Overall, the Wii Remote Charge 'N Play as I know of posting this review, is the only charger that allows you to only charge the battery without the need of the Wii-mote. Battery life is fairly decent. It would have been nice if the LED light turned off once the battery was fully charged. The idea of allowing another dock to be attached is good.

In order to get the DVD Playback to work on the Nintendo Wii, you will need a modified console with a modchip. So far, it has only been tested with WiiKey with all other modchips to be tested on soon.
- There is no ETA until WiiVision can confirm all attributes are fully functioning. When there are ETA's and when that time comes, people will be complaining and spreading rumors. So he would like to avoid this.
- The app will allow you to play original single layer DVD movies (store bought movies).
- The app will also work in ANY region of Wii fitted with ANY modchip that is capable of booting GC homebrew.
- The app supports both standard and widescreen TV/DVD formats.
So I really liked the MFE for GC homebrew... But its lacking in many ways.
My latest project is a new homebrew app that specificly plays DVDs. It's still bound to the GC-Linux (because we still can't load Wii homebrew), but has greatly been improved in playback quality and region support.
This new app is derived from the "proof of concept" that is MFE, but is all fresh code and loads media without the need of a FileSystem mount emmbedded on each media (eg. the DVD Drive FS mount that has to be included on all media MFE loads).
I'm still in development phase, but have tested a couple canidates with good results.
Support currently includes:
- 4.7G DVD Media (-r, +r, +rw, and of course "originals")
- Region Free
- Multi-Language Subtitle Support
The only real downside to this is that you have to load the DVD containing the app, then swap the DVD you want to watch when asked. It's going to stay that way untill we get true Wii homebrew support (and getting there is way beyond me).

Since the application is run via GC Homebrew, you will need a GameCube controller to operate the controls of the DVD UI. There is no way to run Wii Homebrew as of right now. Once there is, things will probably change.
This is the menu of the app, here it allows you to eject, play/pause, and displays the title of the dvd inserted, uses the "b" button to toggle this screen on/off and continues to play/display the dvd unless "start" is pressed to pause. (sorry the image sucks, my camera is old).
Controls:
Toggle menu: B
Play/Pause: Start
SlowMotion: A
Goto Disc Root: Y
Goto First Chapter: X
FF: R Trigger
RW: L Trigger
Next Chapter: C-Stick Right
Previous Chapter: C-Stick Left
DVD Menus Navigation: D-Pad
DVD Menus Select: Start
Eject the disc at anytime: L+R Trigger Combo
After doing more testing, I've decided to ditch the Menu UI and here's why:
System Memory usage and availability: For the app to be able to support standard single layer store bought DVD's, it has to run on top of GC-Linux. Although GC-Linux is small, it still uses quite a bit of the available ram leaving a smaller amount available for the app and its decoder/buffer. If I port my app to direct boot, we loose ALOT if not ALL of the quality and compatibility (simply because the ram and video/audio device support is very limited and mostly has to be writen from scratch).
All of the navigation controls will remain as well as the app/disc loading features.
This evening I will be testing a stripped build allowing a larger decoding buffer.
Here is a link to the video. Its kind of grainy due to crappy webcam but still visible and WiiVision talks about it.

Features:
* High quality 3rd party product.
* Easy to install.
* Convert the Wii remote to light gun.
* Socket for connect the Nunchuk controller.
Another 3rd party manufacturer made a light gun attachment. The Wii-mote attaches to the top of the peripheral while the Nunchuk connects to the bottom of the attachment. Unlike some other gun attachments, you will have to hold the Nunchuk in your hands rather than the Nunchuk attached to the shell.

A new device that allows gamers to utilize a full 1080p on any slim PC monitor, video projector and older HDTV/Plasma sets that are without a pure HDMI entry. HDFury will transform an analog display into a digital one from HDMI sources such as PS3, Xbox 360 elite, Blu-ray players and much more. For example, you have a high resolution LCD PC monitor, while it is capable of displaying a 1080p resolution, there is no way of enabling it. The HDFury turn your PC monitor into a 1080p display, so you can enjoy something like your PS3 in its fullest!
Unfortunately, it will cost $129.95. Divineo.cn should have the HDFury available in a few days.
Here is a video of HDFury in action with the PS3.

Quality/Usability : Ninjapass Evolution X9 comes includes a SD/MMC USB card reader as well as the X9 in a black casing. The Ninjapass Team also included 2 additional empty casings (clear and pink) as well as 2 Ninjapass stickers. These stickers are to be placed on any of the casings to cover the exposed PCB board. No instructions or CD was included but is not needed as you can view them on their website. The quality of the cartridge is well built and the same size as the actual DS game cartridge from Nintendo and other Slot-1 cartridges on the market.
Setting up the X9 can be a bit troublesome and requires some tinkering in order to get things running. First, you will have to read their manual. It will explain what files are needed and copied over to the microSD card in order for the X9 to work. You can download the latest files here.
The Ninjapass Team has improved the look of the GUI dramatically. It looks alot better. The top screen shows Ninjapass' logo and underneath the logo shows the game logo and save type. At the very top above the logo shows the date, time and temperature.
The bottom screen shows the list of games loaded on the microSD. Not only does it shows your games, but also folders for your homebrew, DSOrganize and whatever folders you have on the microSD.
Once you have chosen your game, you are given an option of 1: Turbo, 2: Fast, 3: Medium, 4: Slow. Its best to choose #3: Medium. If you have a high speed card, you can choose either #1 or #2.
The X9 allows you to skin the GUI. You can change the skin by:
Only replace the X9 skin (BMP file need) in the "TFSYSTEM" folder
menu.txt - font colors and Language of the OS menu
barh.bmp - 256*16 pixels (256bit)
btm1.bmp - 256*192 pixels (24bit)
btm2.bmp - 256*192 pixels (24bit)
option.bmp - 256*192 pixels (24bit)
prompt.bmp - 256*192 pixels (24bit)
top.bmp - 256*192 pixels (24bit)
Note:
Do not change the bmp file's name and touch screen area. As for game compatibility, I didnt have any problems with any of the games. You can take a look at the Wiki compatibility list here. But its best to get a very good highspeed card to avoid any problems with loading of games.
The compatibility for homebrew is very good. The X9 has DLDI support which lets you run all the latest homebew with full DLDI support.
Conclusion : Overall, the Ninjapass Evolution X9 works great but falls short in some areas. There is no soft reset as well as cheat system. Swapping of the casings can be annoying as you will have to be very careful not to break the case, lose any of the pieces and put it all back together. Although its not really a big problem, it would of been nice if the list of games was more organized. You can purchase a 1GB for as low as $10! To find the best deals, visit our Online/Store Deals.

Wii Remote Battery Charger & Stand
Manufacturer: PantherLord
Site: Buy from Goldenshop.com.hk
Price: $15.00
Overview : The Wii Remote Battery Charger & Stand charges your Wii Remote when the battery pack is dead via USB. Not only does it charge but it also holds your Nunchuk.
Features : - High quality 3rd party product.
- Comes with a rechargeable battery for the Wii remote control - no need to take out the battery when charging.
- No need to add extra power supply - get the power from the USB port of the Wii console.
- Extra space for storing the Nunchuk.
- Light indicators to show the charging status.
Quality/Usability : The Wii Remote Battery Charger & Stand comes with a 1800mAh battery and a USB stand/dock. All these 3rd party Asian rechargeable batteries are all starting to look alike. I wouldnt be surprised if all of them work with one another.
The battery is attached to the battery cover so you will need to put away your original battery cover as it will no longer be needed. Inside the battery pack, you can see that there are two rechargeable AA batteries. On the front of the battery pack are two metal plates. This is where the batteries are charged when connected to the dock.
On the stand, the right side houses the Wii Remote and on the left side is the Nunchuk. The Nunchuk only sits there and does nothing else. Its pretty much just a holder. The Wii Remote fits securely in place when docked. Unfortunately, like all other rechargeable battery docks, it will not fit a Wii Remote with a controller glove on it. You will either have to take it off or just lift it up enough so that the metal contacts on the dock can touch the contacts on the battery pack.
When the Wii Remote is placed on the stand to be charged, how do you know if its charging or when its done? Simple. In between the Nunchuk holder and the Wii Remote, there is a LED. Its not really visible as its underneath the white plastic housing. Though, it is visible when the LED is lit up. When the rechargeable battery is being charged, a red LED is lit up and when it is done, the LED will be green.
Charge time took about 2 hours to completely charge. When the rechargeable battery is in use, it only lasted about 3-4 hours. This is pretty much standard with all 3rd party batteries that come from Asia.
Conclusion : Overall, the Wii Remote Battery Charger & Stand is no different from any other rechargeable battery packs on the market. It performed the same as all others. It even looks so much a like as all the other 3rd party rechargeable battery packs. The Nunchuk stand is pretty useless as all it does is hold the Nunchuk in place. Since they incorporated it into the stand, they should of made something for the cord on the Nunchuk as well. The cord is just either left hanging on the table or just thrown on top of the stand. Would of also been nice if the LED turns off when the battery is fully charged rather than the LED be green.

So you've heard about the Wiimotes smashing an expensive TV set, walls or even people. Then a flood gate of cases and rubber silicon gloves were being sold. Well, Elecom has taken it a step further to ensure that your wet slipper butterfinger hands doesnt let go of that remote. They have added a strap to the back of the cover to ensure that the Wiimote does not fall and slip out.
Clicking on the link below will also show you three other covers that they will be releasing. One is a cover but instead of a strap, it has grooves for better gripping. Another cover features an opening for the battery compartment. This is great for easy access to batteries rather than having to remove or lift the cover. This may also be helpful for those rechargeable battery packs with special battery door covers.
No price has been announced or a way to order but they will be available in three different colors: Clear, Black and Blue.
