We're alive and kicking! Last Wednesday the server was running fine but there was a problem with MySQL, now normally the server fixes itself, thanks to the work Martin64 did on it to reset itself if the need arises. But it didnt reset itself which was strange. DCEmu tried to reboot using putty but they couldnt connect.
Our server admin and all around great guy Martin64 was away on holiday vacation in London last week and only arrived home yesterday. Tickets were sent into the hosts but discussing the problem with Martin64 he was told the best solution was to backup and restore again. He has been running tests on the hardware to diagnose the problem but as of this time no clue as to what caused the hard drive to go into ReadOnly mode.
With that said, Martin64 has pretty much gotten everything back to normal and we can continue to bring you more news and reviews.
Sorry for the downtime and any problems this may have caused.
The WiiControl is one modder's solution to avoid overheating when WiiConnect24 isn't running a fan. An external LCD displays the internal temperature at all times. If the heat rises past 35°C, the Wii's fan kicks on just like it should have in the first place.
A new virus-infected email is doing the rounds, carrying a worm along with its promised cargo of Super Mario Bros.
The email carries the Romario-A virus, and does actually launch a version of Mario Bros. It's one of a new breed of virus-carrying emails which run games to disguise the fact that they're up to no good. The Gonori-A trojan, for example, plays Minesweeper.
Romario-A doesn't seem to be terribly widespread just yet, perhaps because there are about eight million better ways to play Super Mario Bros, or perhaps because the body of the email, "Hi There, Do You Like Mario Bross ? Test it, and you'll like it ;] !".
Federal customs agents Wednesday raided more than 30 businesses and homes in 16 states, looking for devices that allow pirated video games to play on Wiis, PlayStation 2s and Xboxes.
The alleged sale and distribution of illegal modification chips and copyright circumvention devices for the popular consoles and others included 32 search warrants in 16 states, said the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
ICE declined to release the names of those targeted but said they are allegedly responsible for importing, installing, selling and distributing foreign-made devices smuggled into the U.S.
Illegal chips and other devices used on gaming consoles violate the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998. Sales of counterfeit or illegally obtained games costs the industry about $3 billion a year globally, not including Internet piracy, estimates the Entertainment Software Association trade group.
Piracy losses for Nintendo and its game developers and publishers likely totaled $762 million last year alone, said Jodi Daugherty, senior director of anti-piracy at Redmond, Wash.-based Nintendo America.
Daugherty's five-person team coordinates global anti-piracy efforts for Nintendo's Japan-based parent company. Since April, the company has helped law enforcement agencies worldwide seize 61,000 counterfeit Wii modification chips, she said.
Wednesday's federal raids came after a yearlong investigation conducted by ICE's Office of the Assistant Special Agent in Charge in Cleveland, which coordinated with the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Ohio and the Department of Justice's Computer Crimes and Intellectual Property Section. ICE said it also received assistance from companies and industry trade groups.
"Illicit devices like the ones targeted today are created with one purpose in mind, subverting copyright protections," Julie L. Myers, assistant secretary of Homeland Security for ICE, said in a release. "These crimes cost legitimate businesses billions of dollars annually and facilitate multiple other layers of criminality, such as smuggling, software piracy and money laundering."
Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft Corp. issued a statement applauding ICE's efforts to reduce piracy and protect the gaming industry's intellectual property. A company spokeswoman would not divulge Microsoft's individual piracy losses.
The raids were conducted in: California, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas and Wisconsin.
Appleguru of OTBmods is one site to be raided (read here and read here). Theres also word that Modchipman, ModchipStore, Foundmy were also raided (you'll notice that modchips were removed from their online store).
Even with the news of federal agents going after modders and pirates, its not stopping modchip makers. The new modchip is known as Wii-BOSS It officially releases today (August 3rd). This is a quick-solder Wii modchip solution with an external programmer and is open source, meaning you can flash any code to it via RS-232 (serial port).
“Almost all other conventional and homebrew modchips consist of two parts where the code is held, of which only the smaller EEPROM section of the chip can be changed easily. This EEPROM part of the code is very useful for small pre defined simple on or off selectable 1’s and 0’s and possibly a very small “additional feature” section. For example: Speed setting your chip or enabling multi-zone. However, if you want to update the entire chip, you need to physically remove the chip from the Wii, put it on a programmer, reprogram it, and then reinstall the chip into the Wii. This is not something you want to be doing constantly keep up with new optimized modchip codes for the Nintendo Wii.”
The Wii-BOSS is designed as a ‘quick solder’ chip with an external ribbon cable that can be left inside the machine, taped down on the back of the Wii, or even hidden inside the memory card bay. This chip can be fully programmed inside the machine with any code that supports the 12f629 PIC Microchip.
The Wii-BOSS is also designed to allow external booting off the ribbon cable, therefore protecting the user against ever having to pull the Wii apart ever again if their requirements for a particular style of modchip change. External adapters to make competitor modchips and PC applications like DVD-Tool boot externally have already been designed and will be produced soon after the initial release of the premier product for a very minimal charge. These will likely be included in future kits at no extra charge.
The Wii-BOSS even comes packaged with its own RS-232 port external programmer. Software for the programmer is open source and therefore also provided free. The programmer is based on an open source project and therefore could be ‘modded’, theoretically, to be used as a standard RS-232 PIC programmer.
R.R.P. for the entire packed is USD$25 including the Wii-SP JDM programmer. The cost will obviously much cheaper in bulk quantities. Wholesale quantities start from just 2 kits.
At the time of writing the wii-boss supported the following codes (in no particular order):
Wii-Free - last stable release ver2.45
YOASM - last stable release ver1.7
Winja – last stable release ver2.0 (deluxe currently not available)
Open-Wii - last stable release ver1.3
Wii-skas - last stable release unknown
MaxBoot - last stable release ver1.0 (redirection code for external booting)
Verbatim® Corporation and its parent company, Mitsubishi Kagaku Media (MKM), announced today the world’s first Mini Blu-ray Recordable/Rewriteable (BD-R/RE) media. Measuring three inches (8cm) in diameter, the new 7.5GB discs provide approximately one hour of continuous video capture time on a single side when high definition (1920×1080i) is used, and approximately two hours* of video capture time with images recorded at 1440×1080i. MKM Mini BD media will be available in August in Japan, where the new Hitachi BD-compatible camcorder will be launched. Verbatim will begin shipments to other parts of the world, including North America, when the new BD-compatible camcorders become available locally.
Verbatim Mini BD media combine with a BD-compatible camcorder to provide consumers with convenience features that hard disk camcorders cannot offer. With the ability to record priceless memories directly to a Mini BD disc, users can eliminate the time-consuming process of downloading captured video to their computer hard drive. They can also enjoy unlimited capacity by simply removing the disc from the camcorder and adding a new one.
Like Verbatim’s standard (12 cm) BD media, the new Mini BD discs deliver the highest read/write performance and unsurpassed longevity. Advanced technologies developed by MKM guard against deterioration in picture and sound quality--even with repeated recording and playback. By combining MKM’s proprietary recording layers and hard coat with its precision stamper and precision molding technologies during the manufacturing process, Verbatim BD media customers can be confident they have the best media on the market for their special memories and that they’ll be able to enjoy them for years to come.
The proprietary hard-coat finish on Verbatim BD media has superior anti-static and anti-scratch properties for added protection against scratches, fingerprints and dust particles that can occur during normal camcorder and home use.
Verbatim’s new Mini BD media is produced to the highest quality standards at MKM’s optical disc manufacturing facility in Mizushima, Japan. The Mizushima factory is well known for its expertise in producing blue laser media.
Following the news of federal agents raiding businesses/homes, Consoletech.net has uploaded scans of the FBI search warrant for a premises that was searched as part of a crack down on mod chips. They go so far as to also take pictures of the premise and provide a detail description of the location. They seize all videogame items and computers to find any modchips and games on the computer.
We were sad to discover that many stores were raided yesterday in the USA for selling modchips. Due to all the recent uprise of hacks-out-of-the-box like Wii mods and Pre flashed Xbox mods and pre-flashed 360 consoles we feared this would probably happen.
We feel our mods are shipped in a legal format with Linux pre loaded and any other products we make contain no copyrighted code and no circumvention of copy protection.
However, due to these crazy times we have taken the decision not to supply any linux based modchips (X2 and X3) to any USA stores in future and we will be concentrating on non-modchip products that will benefit and add enjoyment to gaming in general.

Top/Bottom Case
Buttons
Quality/Usability : With the new look that I did to my Nintendo Wii by adding a Team Xtender I-Case Black Knight case mod, I thought it was only right to have a matching Wiimote and Nunchuk to go along with it. With that said, Xtreme Enterprise is the first to release Wiimote and Nunchuk replacement shell cases.
To open up the Wiimote and Nunchuk, I had to use the triwing from Zoozen Action PRO Toolkit v2. First I removed the battery cover and batteries, and unscrewed four (4) screws. Next, I split open the housing of the Wiimote. Be careful when doing so as you may break off a tab that holds the casing together (I snapped it off). Once the casing has been pried off, all you do is place all the innards from the original Wiimote into the replacement shell. Everything fits perfectly. You'll also have to remove the metal contacts that is inside where the batteries connect to. Once all components have been transfered to the new shell, everything fits perfectly. If you do not like the buttons that came with the replacement shell casing or just want to mix and match, the original buttons will also fit.
The Nunchuk itself has two (2) triwing screws on the bottom. Once both screws have been removed, same process of taking the casing apart on the Wiimote applies with the Nunchuk. With the Nunchuk, everything is connected except for the buttons. You'll have to wiggle the wire so that it comes off of the bottom housing of the Nunchuk. Once its off, just place it into the replacement shell along with buttons and screw the triwing screwdrivers back on and you're done!
Conclusion : Overall, the CHUCKii Wiimote Replacement Shell is identical to that of the original casing of the Wiimote and Nunchuk. The buttons though dont feel as fluid and smooth when pressing them. The ability to mix and match the buttons is great. I used the original power button, A and home button on the Cool Black housing and those buttons stand out more as they are colored and white as opposed to all black. Separating the casings will need to take some patience because if you just pull them apart without being careful, you'll snap off the tabs that keeps the cases closed. Once the tab breaks off, the controllers will stay closed but not completely.
As you can see, this new strap includes a little locking clip, replacing the sliding clip of the previous models, which had a tendency to slide away from the player's wrist and loosen the strap. This new model would be the fourth incarnation of the strap; the first was the original model which tended to break, the second would be the replacement straps with the thicker connector to the remote, and the third was the replacement of the replacement that lacked the Nintendo and Wii branding.
These were said to be obtained by requesting replacement straps. No official announcement has been released regarding these straps. If you have already requested four (4) straps from Nintendo, when they first announced the replacement with the thicker string, you'll have problems. Nintendo requires you to enter your Nintendo Wii serial number when requesting the straps and when you request up to four straps, it will give you a message... "Your request for additional strap(s) has exceeded the maximum quantity allowed per Wii serial number." So if Nintendo really is shipping these new locking wrist straps, you'll have to enter a new Nintendo Wii serial number.
If we hear anything more concrete and official, we'll update this post.
Click below for the rest of the amazingly difficult steps.
The lens should “focus around” all the small holes. Be sure to use a flash so it lights up the inside.
As you can see my XBox 360 Core, purchased in June with a build date on the faceplate of 11/07 does nothave the new heat sink since we can see straight through to the side of the DVD player. Darn. Good thing I kept the receipt.
So now everyone can check their new Elites, Premiums and Cores to see if and when the new heat sinks started showing up in units. You can find a manufacture date behind the not-voiding-to-remove faceplate, which of course is just the date of the faceplate but should give some indication.
What the new extended GPU heat sink (left) will look like in comparision to the standard CPU heat sink.
Team Xtender XCM II-Hot Rock Case
Manufacturer: XCM
Site: Buy from ConsoleSource
Price: $64.95
Overview : The XCM II-Hot Rock Wii Case is a new innovation in case modding technology. With a built in Digital LED thermometer, the XCM II-Hot Rock Wii Case is able to alert the user by changing the LED color when the Wii console reaches certain temperatures. Color changes takes place in 5 degree increments. For example, if your Wii console's temperature reaches over 55 degree Celsius, the LED will display 'RED' and start flashing.
Features :
Below 29C : Light blue
30-35C : Blue
36-40C : Green
41-41C : Yellow
46-50C : Orange
50-54C : Red
Over 55C : Red light flashing
Quality/Usability : The II-Hot Rock Case by XCM is similar to that of the Team Xtender II-Case Chameleon but the difference between the two is that the II-Hot Rock Case displays the temperature of the Nintendo Wii but doesnt cycle through the LEDs like the Chameleon case does. Main purpose is to display the Wii's temperature.
The XCM II-Hot Rock Case includes the console shell, doors, faceplate, buttons and even the rubber feets at the bottom of the Wii which makes up the whole exterior of the Wii. To match the clear crystal case, they also included a clear stand and tools to help you dismantle the Wii! Not a single piece was left out.
Like all of XCM's products, the quality of the case is excellent and solid. Feels like it came out from Nintendo's factory. The case is clear which allows you to see all the innards of the Wii. The Crystal clear case also comes with a metal DVD cover which houses the LEDs near the DVD drive.
I wont go much into detail regarding installation as you can find tutorials on how to dismantle or disassemble your Wii, here. The whole installation process took approximately 45 mins. This is not to say that is how long it will take you to assemble everything. I am a perfectionist and anal when it comes to things like this. For some who are pros or better at things like this can be a lot quicker while noobs, novices or perfectionists like me, may take longer. The whole process is just time consuming and tedious. It will require some patience. It took longer than the Black Knight casing was because the metal DVD cover and Air Flow (which also has LEDs) needed to be installed and wires needed to be connected in order to power the LEDs. To install the metal DVD cover and Air Flow, you can read the tutorial here.
Once installed and the Nintendo Wii put back together, the II-Hot Rock Case is fairly bright like the Crystal Chameleon. Luckily, you have the option of turning if off the LEDs. You also have the option of turning off the LED and the digital LED thermometer. But there is no way to have the LED off but the digital LED thermometer turned on.
Conclusion : Overall, the Team Xtender XCM II-Hot Rock Case is a nice product to tell you if your Nintendo Wii's temperature is too hot. With the reports the WiiConnect24 bricking Nintendo Wii's when in standby mode, this would come in handy but doesnt work when the system is turned off. There is also another cheaper do-it-yourself alternative to finding out what the temperature in your Nintendo Wii is but will not be as fancy with the bright lights.
Overview : One of the best things about modern console games is playing online against gamers from all over the world. And whether you’re going one on one in the latest sports sim, joining a party to mash the monsters in a MMORPG or indulging in first-person team-on-team action, playing with and against other people is much more fun when you can talk to them as well…
That’s where Communicator Headset for PS3 comes in. With its comfortable, over-the-ear design and snazzy hi-tech look, it’s an essential purchase for online gamers. With a microphone positioned near your mouth and an earpiece for crystal-clear sound, Communicator Headset lets you bark out your orders or taunt your opponents as you play. So if you want to keep in touch with gamers from all over the world as you batter them in a beat-‘em-up, drive ‘em crazy in a driving game or blow ’em to bits in that first-person shooter, Communicator Headset for PS3 is the ideal choice.
Features :
Comfortable, stylish design.
Crystal clear sound.
Mic positioned near mouth – no need to shout…
Works with WiFi connection.
Quality/Usability : Datel has released their Communicator Headset for the PlayStation 3. This allows you to chat to other gamers over the PlayStation 3 network or in game. The look, style and feel is similar to that of the Datel PSP Communicator Headset. It should also be the same to that of the Xbox 360 and DS versions as well.
The earphone is pretty sturdy. On the earphone itself, is a small clip that loops around your ear. If you own or have seen some SONY Street style headphones, this is similar. The earphone fits on your left ear. You’re unable to switch the clip like you would do with a Bluetooth headphone. If you’re the type of person to wear them on your right ear, you’ll be disappointed and probably feel uncomfortable. The microphone doesn’t stick out all the way (approx. 3.5”) but is long enough for the other person on the other end to hear you. The length of the wire itself is long enough that you can move around freely and not too long where you have to drag it.
The Datel PS3 Communicator Headset works with pretty much any game that allows voice chat such as Resistance, Motorstorm. From what I know (dont own the game) but Call of Duty 3 does not support voice chat. The headset connects to the PlayStation 3 via the USB port. There is also a Bluetooth version available as well. It worked flawlessly in the PlayStation Network as well during in game. The quality of voice is fairly clear. There were times where voice was garbled.
Conclusion : Overall, the Datel PS3 Communicator Headset worked great whether it just be over the PlayStation 3 Network or in-game. Majority of games on the market now allows for voice chat. Unfortunately, it would do no good if the other player doesnt have a headset. You'll just be talking to yourself.
PS3 Controller Power Charge Stand
Manufacturer: Dragonplus
Site: Buy from Goldenshop.com.hk
Price: $7.00
Overview :
Features :
High quality 3rd party product.
Quick charge function with any USB socket - e.g. PSX3, computer, etc...
Fully compatible with the PSX3 wireless controller.
Easy to fix the controller on to the stand and easy to eject it by pressing the button.
2 Power Charge Stand can be fixed together easily.
Quality/Usability : The Controller Power Charger Stand charges your PlayStation 3 SIXAXIS controller. Aesthetically, the stand looks bland and plain. So as long it does its job that's all it matter...but does it?
The charger stand recharges the SIXAXIS by connecting to any USB port whether it be the PS3 or on your computer/laptop. There is no ON/OFF switch but the moment you plug your SIXAXIS into the stand, it starts charging. Right above the USB plug that inserts into the SIXAXIS is a "mirror" This allows you to see the LED light on the controller. On the top of the charger stand is a button. This button helps push the controller off the stand.
With the SIXAXIS placed into the charger stand, it takes about 2-3 hours for the controller to be fully charged which allows you approximately 30 hours of gameplay on a single charge.
Conclusion : Overall, the PS3 Controller Power Charge Stand does its job by recharging the Li-ion batteries on the SIXAXIS. The use of the button to help push the SIXAXIS off the USB plug seems pointless to me as you can easily just pull the controller out. The ability to also attach another PS3 Controller Charge Stand back to back is nice but you'll have to plug the second stand into another USB port.
If you plan on traveling by plane with your consoles, be prepared for even more screening. The TSA is now screening video games, camcorders and DVD/CD players just like they would for a laptop.
Effective August 4, 2007, full-size video game consoles (for example Playstation, X-box, or Nintendo) and DVD players must be removed from their carrying cases and submitted separately for x-ray screening. Laptop computers and video cameras that use cassettes have long been subject to this policy.
Small electronic items, such as cell phones, MP3 players, iPods and portable video game systems do not have to be removed from their carrying cases.
New TSA Security Procedures for Large Electronics
Operations Update Last Updated: 8/4/2007 5:00:00 PM EST
As of 12:01 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2007, the Transportation Security Administration implement new checkpoint security screening procedures that require customers to remove large electronic items from carry-ons for separate screening like current procedures for laptops.
These new procedures apply to items such as:
* Video Games
* Video Cameras
* DVD Players
* CD Players
Please keep these new regulations in mind as you pack your carry-on items for travel.
With the Wii Shop Channel being down for 3 hours yesterday, it was because Nintendo updated the firmware on the Wii to include many small but nice features and even according to anecdotal evidence increase the speed of the UI. Also updated is the Wii Shopping Channel.
Channels:
Digital Clock added to the Wii Menu right under the channel bar
Forecast Channel now displays the current condition (cloudy, raining, etc.) directly in the Wii Menu in the Forecast Channel box
News Channel can now show 2 scrolling headlines at a time in the Wii Menu, 3 when you click on the button
Message Board now has the "Today's Accomplishments" message as a white message which allows it to stand out from other messages
Address Book entries can now be shifted around using A+B (supposed to be a launch feature) but only to empty spaces.
Calendar in Message Board no longer shows "Today's Accomplishment" only days as having messages.
Wii Shop Channel Overhauled
New Welcome screen detailing 4 Recommended Titles and the points they cost (gone is the title screen bar that had linkable games)
Titles You've Downloaded was moved to the main shop menu
New ways to browse
Popular Titles (2 pages of 10 and includes launch games so not only based on recent info)
Newest Additions remains the same
Search for a title which can use partial names
Search by Category
System shows the different systems and how many titles have been released under each
Publisher showing different publishers and amount of titles released (Nice logos!)
Genre (different genres listed and amount of titles under each)
Mod Chip Warning
After you update and go back to the update section to before a "test update" you will be greeted with a message that says something to effect that if you have a modified Wii your console may be disabled or lock up. Mod Chippers owned? If you want to cancel you have to power down your system.
The new Wii firmware update seems to have added USB keyboard support for the console which wasnt officially announced. It doesn't seem to work on the internet browser but does work on the shop channel and message board. It seems that not all keyboards are working, but if you have a newer one you are set.
For those with the RROD (Red Ring of Death), there is a temporary solution thats lasts about 4-5 days and only about 40-50 mins of your time plus 3 towels.
CheapyD at CheapAssGamer.com gives a demonstration of the Xbox 360 towel trick which gives your Xbox 360 4-5 days before it gives you the RROD. You will then have to perform the trick all over again. Due to the procedure required, DCEmu and CAG is not responsible for any other damages caused. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

55 in 1 Bluetooth Card Reader + Hub
USB Cable
Driver CD
Quality/Usability : After reviewing the Brando 55-in-1 Card Reader/Writer, we were impressed by the quality as well as how well the device worked. But thought we wanted to review how well this new 55-in-1 card reader/writer is. Not to mention, it is also a USB 2.0 hub and a Bluetooth dongle.
Whats great about the 55-in-1 is that not only does it eliminate all those devices, adapters and cables but its works with any Windows and MAC operating systems. Not to mention, NO drivers needed (except for bluetooth)! The reader/writer is powered by your USB port with no additional power supply and uses USB 2.0. It is also backwards compatible with USB 1.1. When the reader is plugged in, I noticed that under MY COMPUTERS, there were three REMOVABLE DRIVES. When you insert a storage card, a green LED is lit up to let you know it is in use.
I tried various cards from a 4GB Hitachi MicroDrive, to a 256MB SD card, to a 1GB Memory Stick/Pro Duo cards and even the new smaller micro cards, microSD and Sony's M2. All work without any problems and all showed up perfectly and without any adapters! I no longer have to mess with cables or adapters in order to transfer data.
Normally, I connect my digital camera to my computer via USB cable. I tried my 4GB Hitachi MicroDrive with the card reader. The 55 in 1 had no problem reading it. Transferring pictures was just as easy and fast. It only took less than a minute to transfer my pictures to my computer. Mind you, these pictures were taken at 10.1MP and the files size are huge.
So I decided to try my 1GB that I use for my Nintendo Wii. Transferring VGA quality images were fast as well. It didnt take long before it was finished. Usually I would use the MobileMate SD+ adapter to transfer files. Transferring files to the Memory Stick and Pro Duo were the same. With the Pro Duo cards, I no longer had to use the adapter in order for me to transfer data. I just slipped it in and the reader had no problem recognizing the card.
My next test was my microSD and M2 that I used for my cellphones. The two newest memory cards to hit the market for the latest devices. I transferred not only pictures but also music. Transferring data was flawless and no adapter was needed at all unlike my other readers.
No matter what sized storage card I threw at the 55-in-1, it had no problem recognizing the card. You must say to yourself, there are other card readers out there that does the same. Yes, you're right BUT they are usually limited to how big in size it will read your card. My Toshiba laptop has a card reader built-in. Reading small sized memory cards up to 2GB memory cards were not a problem. But when I inserted my 4GB Pro Duo, it didnt read it at all.
Before getting the 55-in-1, I had contacted companies regarding the limitations of how big the storage card it will read and all said 1GB to 2GB at most. That would do me no good since I have 4GB storage cards.
There are three USB ports on the side. Two are used as hubs while the other is used to power a USB device.
Not only is the 55-in-1 a card reader and a USB hub, it also acted as a bluetooth dongle. Pairing bluetooth devices to the card reader was not a problem. My Sony Ericsson w810i did not have a problem finding the reader and neither did the card reader have problems pairing with the phone. Transfer of files were easy and quick.
Conclusion : Overall, the 55-in-1 Bluetooth Card Reader + Hub is a great all-in-one device. Not only is it compatible with the latest operating systems but it accepts 55 different memory cards. It eliminates the use of USB cables for your devices and adapters. You can also transfer files via bluetooth if you have a bluetooth device. When connecting the card reader to a USB port, make sure it is directly to the computer as connecting it to a USB hub would not supply enough power to the card reader.

3-in-1 Features:
EZTEAM announces the one stop expansion pack solution with integrated the 256Mbit GBA card, NDS Browser RAM Expansion Pack, NDS Rumble Pack, ALL three cards in to one Lite sized slot-2 card. With several years experience of flashcard development, this installation has it all.
GBA function: it equipped with 256Mbit Norflash, 2Mbit SRAM, Battery. so it can compatible with almost GBA game(except which needs special hardware). and it has three advantages to compare with SDRAM/PSRAM GBA solution.
The data still remain after power off.
Can be used as a standalone GBA card.
Perfect GBA/NDS linker
Browser RAM expansion function uses the highspeed ram cache as primary. perfect compatibility with NDS Browser (JAP/EUR).
Rumble function works perfectly with all official rumble enabled games, it also has three levels of vibration strength that can be adjusted. Now you can adjust between power consume and better game feeling by yourself. SDK also provided for third party developers.
Quality/Usability : EZ-Flash V SLOT-1
The EZ-Flash V comes in a cardboard box. Inside is a plastic tray that holds the EZ-Flash V and 3-in-1 expansion pack. Whats lacking with the EZ-Flash that other flash carts offer is a USB card reader and software CD.
The SLOT-1 cart itself is the same size as any other flash cart and original DS cartridge. The microSD is inserted through the side of the flash cart instead of the top like others on the market. There is also no spring loaded action when inserting and removing of card, so you'll have to manually pull the microSD card out. Although the card is the same size as the DS cartridge, on the front of the EZ-Flash V, you'll notice a chip is protruding from the casing.
Since the EZ-Flash V does not come with a microSD card reader, you'll have to get a card reader as well as downloading the necessary files for EZ-Flash V at their own homepage or from here.
The GUI itself is based off on Moonshell. It looks identical to Moonshell and you can use the same skins. Unfortunately, the GUI doesnt take advantage of the touchscreen. The only time you can use the touchscreen is when you’re using the multimedia function (music or video).
Like all other SLOT-1 flash carts on the market, it had no problem booting and playing games that I loaded onto the microSD.
Homebrew requires FAT access or it will not work unless the homebrew application you’re trying to run has DLDI support and you patched it with EZ-Flash V's DLDI file. Homebrew such as DSOrganize loaded perfectly when you apply the DLDI patch
3-in-1 Expansion Pack
As an extra bonus (and of course a little extra cash), you get a 3-in-1 expansion pack. The expansion pack contains GBA flash cart, RAM expansion pack and a rumble pack.
The 3-in-1 expansion pack was suppose to work with only the EZ-Flash V but it seems to work with CycloDS Evolution, R4 and M3 Simply.
The quality of the expansion pack is well built and sturdy. It fits perfectly in the DS Lite SLOT-2. Unfortunately, the Lite version of the expansion is available in the bundle. It will not fit in a original Nintendo DS. You can purchase both the Lite and original DS sized expansion packs separately which sells approximately for $22.00.
GBA Game
To play GBA games, you must load the games using the EZ client onto the microSD card or the game will not save correctly. Once you have copied over your GBA game, select it from the EZ loader and press R+SELECT. This will write the game to the 256mbit of space that is on the expansion pack. Due to the size, it may take awhile to copy files over.
To start a GBA game, there are two ways to do so: 1) selecting "START GBA GAME" or 2) pressing R+A when selecting a game from the EZ-Flash V menu. Since there is only 256mbit of available memory, you can only load one game at a time on the expansion pack.
RAM Expansion
Opera DS Browser comes with its own RAM pack that gives the browser a little extra boost in performance. The expansion pack does the same thing but only works with the ROM version. You can not use the expansion pack with the actual Opera DS Browser cartridge.
With the inclusion of the RAM Expansion, homebrew developers can take advantage of the extra RAM when it comes to developing homebrew games and applications. Of course, that would mean gamers will have to get a RAM pack.
Rumble Pack
There are three settings: LOW, MEDIUM and HIGH. With the rumble set on HIGH, the vibration makes a thunderous noise. You can hear this during gameplay if you have the volume of your DS set low enough. If the rumble is set on LOW, you wont hear it as much as if it was set on HIGH but you'll still be able to feel the vibration. You can adjust the rumble strength by pressing R+L on the EZ-Flash V menu.
Conclusion : Overall, the EZ-Flash V 3-in-1 Expansion Bundle is on top of the list as one of the best flash carts on the market..of course thanks to the help of the 3-in-1 expansion pack which makes it almost an all-in-one solution. The expansion pack is what makes the EZ-Flash V stand out from the rest of the pack. It would of been nice if they also included a CD with the necessary files and a USB card reader for the microSD.
Too bad that the expansion pack only limits you to load one GBA game at a time. But you can never be too picky. Just be happy that its even available!

Dragon Wireless Sensor Bar
Manufacturer: Dragon
Site: Buy from ConsoleShop
Price: $14.95
Overview : Play your Wii in total freedom without that messy (and fragile) sensor bar cable with Dragon wireless sensor bar. With a range of 5 meters to the Wii console and 5 meters to the Wiimote, you can set up your playing area as you wish.
Features:
Can be placed anywhere
High quality and efficient
Wireless function and easy to set up
5 meters operating range to Wii console
5 meters operating range to Wiimote controller
Requires 6 pieces of alkaline dry AA batteries (72 hours of continuous play time)
Compatible with any Wiimote
Quality/Usability : Well known 3rd party peripheral manufacturer, Dragon, has released their own version of the wireless sensor bar. The wireless sensor bar has the style and look of the Nintendo Wii and the sensor bar. With the style and look, comes size.
The size of the wireless sensor bar is HUGE. With the Nintendo Wii placed on the stand that came with the Wii and standing up, the sensor bar is as wide as the Wii and is even taller than the Wii. Compared to the original sensor bar that came with the Wii? With the sensor bar laying flat, its takes about four original sensor bars stacked on top of each other to be the same height as the Dragon Wireless Bar. It takes about two sensor bars back to back to be the same depth as the wireless sensor bar.
On the front of the wireless sensor bar is a button that looks similar to that of the Nintendo Wii. This powers on and off the sensor bar. Next to it is an LED to let you know if the sensor bar is on or off. To power this monstrous peripheral takes 6...yes, SIX!!! AA batteries. The batteries are placed on the back of the sensor bar.
The batteries lasted about two weeks depending on how much and how long it was used. This may vary either less or more depending on the usage. So the more you use the wireless sensor bar, the more the battery will be drained. The opposite is said if it was used less.
Conclusion : Overall, the Dragon Wireless Sensor Bar is just way too big. It lasts a decent amount of time but thats because it uses 6 AA batteries. It would cost you a lot of money if using regular alkaline batteries. You can use rechargeable batteries but majority of chargers can charge up to 4 batteries at one time.
GameFly seems to have the actual box art for the much anticipated boxing game for the Wii, Victorious Boxers: Revolution. In Japan, it is known as Hajime No Ippo Revolution. Do you like the Victorious Boxers box art? I hope the Victorious Boxers box art is a concept.
My goals for this project are to be able to control a game on at least 2 axes and have fun while I'm doing it. I won't be attempting to recreate Nintendo's official Balance Board, as that seems to use scales to detect shifting of weight, while the board itself remains stationary on the ground. My board will actually require balancing, and it will move around freely. The design I started kicking around in my head pretty much dictated the type of game I'd be testing it out with. I figured skateboarding or snowboarding should allow me enough leeway in my input that I wouldn't be required to have the balance and coordination of Daniel LaRusso to play.
Some tennis balls, glue, plastic trays, foam strips, grip tape, and of course, a Wiimote were used to make this DIY'er Balance Board. For instructions on how to build your own, click on the link below.
The embattled tech media company - which has teetered on the brink for over a year as it tried to sell itself in pieces to get out from under a mountain of debt - said it skipped an interest payment due yesterday and was entering into negotiations with debt holders to restructure about $390 million in debt.
"It's about correcting a capital-debt structure," said Young, who added that he could not speculate on what terms would be offered to debt holders.
Said one industry observer yesterday, "They are playing hardball with their lenders by withholding payments. It was inevitable. They were in a cash crunch and it was just a matter of time."
The company said it has retained Alvarez & Marsal to handle the restructuring. Alvarez & Marsal have done work in the past for companies such as Timex, DoubleClick and Levi Strauss.
In the most recent fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2006, Ziff Davis Media had $181 million in revenue and cash flow of $27.1 million. The company also said it was going to delay filing its quarterly fiscal report for the period ending June 30.
Having worked in printing publications for a Latino Magazine, MAD Magazine and partially for DC Comics, the industry is very hard to stay a float considering everything is going to digital these days. Tips & Tricks, Official Xbox Magazine and others have closed. Time Warner had sold or closed numerous magazines of their own as well. It was a matter of time. Hopefully EGM and 1UP will survive this downfall and be picked up by someone else.

Overview : Lock and load with the Sharp Shooter™ from JOYTECH. Fully compatible with all forms of TV's and displays including plasma and LCD, the Sharp Shooter brings Wii™ shooting games to life with amazing realism. Connecting quickly and safely to the Wii™ Remote and Nunchuck, the Sharp Shooter™ is lightweight, simple to use and requires no batteries, no leads and no worries! Shoot to thrill!
Features :
Convert your Wii Remote and Nunchuk into a precision shooter
Easy-load and Quick-Eject design connects and dismantles to the Wii Remote and Nunchuk in seconds
Maintains full access to the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controls
Quality/Usability : While us gamers wait for Nintendo to release the Wii Zapper, we have to resort to 3rd party peripherals to fill in that void. There have been various different types of light gun attachments on the market. Before the Wii Zapper was announced, the Joytech Sharp Shooter was the talk of the town.
Unlike the Wii Light Gun, the Sharp Shooter's main trigger is the "Z" button on the Nunchuk rather than the "B" button on the Wii Remote. The Wii Remote is placed on top of the barrel while the Nunchuk is used as the handle/grip.
To insert the Wii Remote into the barrel, there is a locking mechanism with a spring on it, that holds the handle and barrel closed. Pulling back the locking mechanism will allow the barrel to fold down. This will allow you to insert the Wii Remote as well as connect the Nunchuk to the bottom of the Wii Remote. The bottom of the barrel has an opening for easy access to the "B" button. The barrel also allows easy access to any of the buttons on the Wii Remote.
Once the Wii Remote is in place, you'll have to pull the locking mechanism back to gain access to connecting the Nunchuk to the Wii Remote. On the side of the Sharp Shooter, there is a small opening on the side. This is where the cord of the Nunchuk is placed so that it is not in the way of the locking mechanism.
Placing the Nunchuk in place is fairly simple. Simply pull back on the locking mechanism and place the Nunchuk into the cradle. The locking mechanism covers the top of the Nunchuk slightly so that it does not fall out of its cradle. Accessing the "Z" or "C" button on the Nunchuk is accessible without a problem along with the joystick.
To connect everything together, simply move the barrel back up and use the locking mechanism to lock the handle and barrel together. It will require you to put some pressure to lock it in place. To dismantle, simply pull back on the locking mechanism.
Conclusion : Overall, the Joytech Sharp Shooter Gun is probably the best constructed light gun attachment on the market..for now. Depending on the game available for the Wii, it may require either the "B" button or "Z" button to be used as the trigger button even though the layout of the Sharp Shooter suggests that the "Z" button is the trigger. So regardless of which is used as a trigger button, the Sharp Shooter accommodates both possibilities nicely. What I dont like is the Nunchuk cord dangling from the side of the gun. This can get annoying at times during gameplay.
Multi Complex Mini-Stick
Manufacturer: Dragon
Site: Buy from ConsoleShop
Price: $6.95
Overview : Improve your Wiimote comfort, grip and performance on games with Dragon multi complex mini stick. Not only does it turn you Wiimote directional pad into a small joystick, but special grips are included to fit best with various type of games.
Features :
Easy to use and setup
Comfortable and suitable for long gaming session
Compact design and comes with 5 different types of silicon cap for various
game style
Compatible with all Wiimote
Quality/Usability : The Multi Complex Mini-Stick turns your Wiimote into a semi-joystick. This attachment goes over the directional pad and "A" button on the Wiimote. Underneath the directional pad and "A" button of the Multi Complex Mini-Stick are foam. This is what touches the pad and button on the Wiimote to prevent any scratching.
What makes the joystick move around is a spring. This allows flexibility in the movement whether it be up, down, left or right. The "A" button on the Multi Complex Mini-Stick doesnt have any springs on it but lays right on top of the "A" button on the Wiimote.
Included are 5 silicon caps (1 on joystick and 4 additional ones). Each joystick vary in style/shape that best suits your needs during gameplay. Removing the caps is very simple. Placing them on the joystick can take some time..for me that is. Since there isnt much space between the top of the joystick where the caps go and the body of the Multi Complex Mini-Stick, its hard to lift and pull the opening of the silicon cap to go over the joystick.
Conclusion : Overall, the Multi-Complex Mini Stick was a cool idea when I first saw and read about it but after using it an experiencing with the peripheral, my thoughts on the use/need of this has changed. I really dont see the use or need for this since majority of Wii games all use motion. This may come in handy for Virtual Console (VC) games but thats about all. Since the joystick uses a spring to help maneuver over the directional pad, the spring rubs against the plastic which gives that "nail on the chalkboard" or scratching feel to it.
Here are the cables that you'll need to get your PSP connected to your TV. Official pricing hasn't been announced yet. Unfortunately, these cables are only compatible with PSP-2000 series PSP's.
With Team Symbiote DVD Player hack requiring a modchip, not to mention voiding your warranty and the sale of X-OOM's application. Why not buy a real Wii DVD Player...I mean Wee DVD Player?
With the redesign of the PSP to PSP Slim, the remote and earphone is changing for the PSP-2000. The remote now has a reconfigured button layout. We're assuming that the PSP-2000 requires this new remote due to the changed AV-compatible headphone jack.

There's a rumor that Logitech will be releasing their own Wiimote to challenge Nintendo's.
In an exclusive interview, UK and Ireland country manager Chris Spearing explained that Logitech hopes "to have at least one product out for the Wii this year," and went on to discuss the debate between rumble versus motion-sensing,
"Having the motion-sensing in the Sixaxis, that really works for some games. And for the Wii – you've seen people rush out and buy the Wii for that realism, if you're swinging a tennis racket, you know how to do it."
"Hopefully we'll be at the forefront of pushing that further, combining some of the two."
