Hi Everyone! There’s been a lot of talk about what shooter games will be like using motion control. We know that some of you gamers might be a bit hesitant to put down the gamepad, but we believe the upcoming PlayStation Move sharp shooter will make motion control for shooter games quite irresistible. Available concurrently with the highly anticipated Killzone 3 in Feb 2011 for $39.99 (MSRP), the sharp shooter is perfect for gamers who want to experience the most realistic action possible.
The PlayStation Move sharp shooter houses both the motion controller and navigation controller, giving you complete control over aiming, movement and interaction within the game. It will truly offer the most intuitive and immersive control experience ever found in a shooter game. It was designed for both comfort and precision, including easily accessible buttons, a responsive digital trigger, adjustable shoulder stock and convenient access to the navigation controller. In addition, the sharp shooter has incorporated a firing mode selector, realistic pump-action and a reload button that allow for new ways of engagement.
So what games will you be able to use the PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter with? The PlayStation Move sharp shooter was designed specifically with games such as Killzone 3 and SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs in mind and even comes with a Killzone 3 and SOCOM 4 sticker pack. Other compatible titles include Time Crisis: Razing Storm and Dead Space Extraction, but you can expect many more upcoming games that will work with it as well.
We have some more peripherals news to share with you. In addition to the PlayStation Move sharp shooter, a new “Jungle Green” DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller will also be available in February 2011 for $54.99 (MSRP), to coincide with the upcoming launch of Killzone 3. There is already a wide array of colors available in the DUALSHOCK 3 family. Tailored to the core fan, the new “Jungle Green” controller will add yet another option for you to accessorize.
We hope you’re all as excited to get your hands on the PlayStation Move sharp shooter or the “Jungle Green” DS3 controller as we are. Enjoy!
The Sharp Shooter attachment looks mighty sexy while the Jungle Green DualShock controller reminds me of the Xbox 360 Halo Edition.

Downgrading your PS3 MAY in SOME cases STOP you from watching any Blu-Ray movies! (Games still work!)
Quote by garyopaOk, we need to work on this Blu-Ray playback it is MAJOR PROBLEM!
I was able to restore one machine I had, by copying over all the files I had in the /dev_flash2 and /dev_flash3 back to the HDD, that I had saved before when it was on v3.41
But that does not help those that were on v3.50 factory fresh or with no previous full /dev_flash2 & 3 backup.
I not sure what file was that fixed the problem.
We need more machines, more tests.
I going start a thread and warn people right now!
Reply by MathieulhSource: @Mathieulh (via) TwitLonger
The people having bluray movies playback issues after downgrading, this happens because you updated to a modified PUP (psjb one) which has its /dev_flash3/ tarball swapped (probably to a debug one, debug consoles do not sport bd movies playback) with other CRL/DRL revocation files.
Having read some posts online, it seems that majority of people who did downgrade, still have a working BD Playback for movies. Interesting. Could it be the downgrade files (modified 3.41 PUP) that is causing the problem?
*UPDATE to possible fix by Mathieulh*Replacing /dev_flash3/ to a backup according to multiple accounts, fixed the problem.
However, the above method does no good for consoles that came pre-installed with 3.50 as there is no "dev_flash3" to backup from. You can also see what other people are using to downgrade, what consoles they're using and if they are affected over at PSX-Scene (Blu-ray player, does yours still work after downgrade).

PS3YES! has just released their own downgrader...
Thanks to: PSGroove.com
And many thanks to the scene developers that work hard to bring these tools to everyone:
Graf Chokolo, zAxis, Hansi, Hermes, Kakaroto
Our downgrade firmware is based on the PSGrade project, we will open the source soon.
Support for the following:
PS3YES AT90USB162 8mhz
PS3YES AT90USB162 16mhz
AT90USBKEY at90usb1287 8mhz
Teensy++ 1.0 at90usb646 16mhz
Teensy++ 2.0 at90usb1286 16mhz
Since firmware 3.55 is out for the PS3, you can only use downgraders to downgrade firmwares 3.50 or LOWER!
NOTE: Importing the HEX to other devices using current payload converters will NOT work!

That's not all. PS3Key has also released their own downgrader as well and you can read our review HERE.

*UPDATE ADDED* 12/8/2010
PS3go finally released their downgrade update via the a9vg forum's! You can read our review HERE.
Source: P3Go
-----------------------------------------------
Last but not least, with the release of downgraders, KaKaRoTo has found out the TRUE USB > AAAA Device Key that is used by all downgrading service Jig dongles. There were many so-called "master keys" however, PS3YES! obfuscated the key, xor-ed it with 0x36 and swapped bytes 11 and 16. The real key is below.
0xAAAA dongle key:
04 4E 61 1B A6 A6 E3 9A 98 CF 35 81 2C 80 68 C7 FC 5F 7A E8
What does this mean for end-users? Nothing much except for the fact that now, the downgrader will be open source in the form of PSGrade by zAxis. PSGrade was a work in process (WIP) downgrader however, it was not working as he could not find the key that was needed...until now.
Source: KaKaRoTo Twitter
-----------------------------------------------
For your convenience, we have included PS3YES! (Fit to all at90usb162 8Mhz and 16Mhz boards), PS3Key, PS3USBJailbreak, P3Go and PSGrade open source files for the usual USB boards such as Teensy, Olimex, Blackcats, Minimus, etc.
REMEMBER THAT THIS DOES NOT REPLACE YOUR HERMES/KAKAROTO PAYLOADS. THIS IS NOT A REPLACEMENT.

Original PS Downgrade PSDowngrade
Manufacturer: PS Jailbreak / PS Downgrade
Site: Buy from HolidayCarts
Price: FREE and unlimited when you own an authentic PS Jailbreak
Overview for PS Jailbreak : The worlds first PS3 Modchip is here — PSJailbreak! Using just a USB drive and a software exploit, the PS Jailbreak apparently does what so many have tried doing before it: allowing homebrew software — to run on the PS3. It only works on 3.41 firmware.
If you want it to work on 3.50 or 3.42 you need to downgrade the PS3. You can do this by using PS Jailbreaks program called "PSDowngrade" which is FREE and unlimited with all PS Jailbreaks! You MUST have an original PS Jailbreak to use this software. Each dongle has a special serial number that is verified during the process of downgrading.
Only the original PS Jailbreak will support official new features and software exploits, don't get caught out with a clone, buy the original real deal today! THIS DOES NOT WORK ON FIRMWARE 3.42 OR ABOVE UNTIL A NEW EXPLOIT/METHOD IS FOUND!
Overview for PS Downgrade : The wait is finally over! New users above 3.41 fw its time to join in on the fun. Thanks to PS Downgrade, PS Jailbreak is now available for all 44 million users.
PS Downgrade is a software add on that connects with your existing PS Jailbreak device. In 1 minute or less you can downgrade your consoles firmware to any previous firmware.
Simple to install; just plug PS Jailbreak into your pc and follow the gui to install PS Downgrade. Works with all past, present and future firmwares!
Turn back your console to 3.41 to jailbreak with the worlds original PS Jailbreak, or even go as far back as 3.12 to enjoy Other OS (yes LINUX is back). Completely safe to use, and does not void your warranty. PS Downgrade is completely undetecable by manufacturer, there is no history or log of your downgrade. Please note: PS Downgrade is ONLY compatible with original PS Jailbreak, no clones or inferior USB dongles.
Specifications :- PS Downgrade is a software add on that connects with your existing PS Jailbreak device. In 1 minute or less you can downgrade your consoles firmware to any previous firmware.

Please note: PS Downgrade is ONLY compatible with original PS Jailbreak, no clones or inferior USB dongles.
Quality/Usability : I will be splitting this review into two parts. First part will be about the PS Jailbreak itself and the second part will be about the PS Downgrade. This does not work on Sony's new firmware 3.55.
Requirements for PS Updater Setup :
How to install PS Updater :- Download PSUpdater.zip
- (Optional) Click START button and type in the search bar "UAC" and click on User Account Control Settings. Inside this menu please lower the settings to lowest priority. Save and restart the computer
- Unrar/Unzip PSUpdater.zip and click on "setup.exe"
- Follow the steps by clicking "Next" until you reach to the point of setup where it asks you to plug in your device
- Plug the PS Jailbreak device into a USB port on your computer and click "Next"
- Choose "Unknown Device #1" from the list and click "Next"
- Click "Save" to save the .ini file
- Click "Install Now.." and complete installation
How to use PS Updater :- Open PS Updater application that installed a shortcut on to your desktop
- Click on "Download Updates" tab and then click on "Download updates"
- It will download the 2 files over the internet and a message will pop up telling you it saved them into the folder where you saved your .ini file:
- prog_SerialNumber.fla — which is PS Jailbreak
- downgrader_SerialNumber.fla — which is your downgrader
- Click "Update Now" tab and click "Click here to select file..."
- Choose the downgrader file (downgrader_SerialNumber.fla) and click "Apply Update"
- If flashed successfully, PS Jailbreak dongle will have green LED
- After using PS Downgrade to lower your firmware (see below for instructions), please follow the above steps this time choosing to apply update file "prog_SerialNumber.fla"
- Now your PS Jailbreak is back to a USB jailbreak modchip
Requirements for Downgrade :- MUST own an original PS Jailbreak USB Dongle that is reprogrammed for PS Downgrade
- (1) Blank FAT32 formatted USB flash drive
- 3.42, 3.50 or above firmware must be installed on the console (Fat or Slim)
- Modified 3.41 PUP, Lv2Diag.self (File 1), Lv2Diag.self (File 2) - these can be found via Google search
How to downgrade firmware 3.42/3.50 or above to firmware 3.41 with PS Downgrade :
* Downgrade will not reformat some PS3 Fat consoles (i.e. launch) but it WILL reformat PS3 Slim consoles. It's best to backup all files via System Settings- Insert PS Jailbreak device that has been reprogrammed as PS Downgrade into your console
- Turn on the console using the same boot method as PS Jailbreak: Press power then immediately press eject. Your console will turn on and PS Jailbreak will light up with red/green LEDs followed by green only, then the PS3 will turn off.
- Remove PS Jailbreak dongle and turn on console to make sure you are in Factory Service Mode. You will see a huge red box on the screen saying Factory Service Mode.
- Load any blank FAT32 USB flash drive device with 2 files in the root directory:
- Modified 3.41 PUP
- Lv2Diag.self (File 1)
- These must be the only files on the USB key and must be placed in the main (root) directory.
- Insert flash drive into the last USB port to the right — the first USB port in from the right side if you’re facing the console. Turn the PS3 on and you will see black screen but the PS3 HDD light will flash.
- The process takes 3-4 minutes for the system to install the old firmware. Towards the end, the power button on the console will start flashing green and then your console will power off.
- Remove the flash drive and turn on the console, you will still be in Factory Service Mode. Please verify you have downgraded successfully to version 3.41 by going to "System Information".
- (Optional) – If you wish to downgrade to any older firmware (such as 3.15) you can follow step 4, 5, 6 using any regular firmware PUP. (You do not need to use modified custom firmware now that you are on 3.41).
- Insert USB flash drive back into your PC and delete the PUP and Lv2Diag.self file (File 1) and copy the other Lv2Diag.self (File 2) to the root of the flash drive.
- Insert USB flash drive back into the same USB port on the PS3 and power on your PS3. After 10 seconds it will power off.
- Remove USB flash drive and turn on your console again. You will be out of factory service mode and back in retail mode with your chosen firmware version installed. You will need to go through setting up settings configuration.
With this you’re able to downgrade any PS3 running firmware 3.42 or 3.50. If you currently own or use to own a PSP, this is kind of similar to that of the Pandora Battery where you take a Sony battery (or compatible battery), load some files onto a memory stick and both combined, you're able to unbrick your PSP. PS Jailbreak was originally charging $40 for a one-time downgrade. So if you wanted to downgrade another PS3, you would have to pay another $40. A lot of people did not like this idea and a couple of weeks later, the team decided to release the downgrade with unlimited use. This means you can downgrade as many PS3 systems as you want without paying additional.
Conclusion : Overall, the Original PS Downgrade PSDowngrade is the first downgrader to hit the hacking scene for the PlayStation 3. Not only does it allow you to downgrade 3.42, 3.50 to 3.41, but you're also able to downgrade to 3.15 and bring back OtherOS. In order to downgrade, you'll need to own an authentic PS Jailbreak and it will cost you a whopping $99 (use to be $180-$150). Pretty hefty for a jailbreak device but that's the price you pay to be the first. PSJB team was originally charging $40 for a one-time use coupon to downgrade a PS3, once. So if you wanted to downgrade another PS3, you would have to fork over another $40. But after many complaints and dislike for this pricing (maybe also because a free solution was soon to be released), PSJB team decided to lower the price of the PS Jailbreak and included unlimited downgrades.
Even though PS Updater v1.3 was suppose to fix problems for those running on Windows 7 64bit, I still ended up having problems. Installation and driver installation was all successful and I was able to get the .fla files but when it came to updating my dongle with either .fla files, I got a "FLASH FAILED" error message. I've tried everything I could possibly think of, even using a ProxyPS method and it could not open the .fla file. However, performing the same installation on a Windows Vista 32bit, I had no problem at all and the flash was successful. Luckily, I had an extra computer running Vista in the house. So this may be a problem if you encounter a problem and don't have another computer with Vista. The PS Updater program only works on Window's OS. I would like to see some support for other operating systems as not everyone owns a PC.
*NOTE: As of 12/6/2010, Sony released a new firmware 3.55 that blocks the use of the downgrader. The Lv2Diag.self File 1 has been revoked. However, if you were unaware of this and tried to downgrade, Sony left Lv2Diag.self File 2 alone so users can get out of FACTORY SERVICE MODE and back to normal state so you can continue to play your games and access PSN. If you own 3.42-3.50 firmware, this still works.
Please note that none of the "upgrade" products listed in this site are endorsed by Nintendo, Sony and/or Microsoft. DCEmu Reviews and DCEmu Network does not condone piracy. The primary functions of a "modchip" and/or "flashcart" are to allow you to play imported games and homebrew software that you legally own or simply just for experimenting with hardware. We in no way endorse piracy, and encourage all users to do the right thing and support the developers/manufacturers that support them. We do not take any responsibilities for any use outside of these parameters or where the use of such a device is illegal.

You thought Sony wouldn't try and stop this? Sony has just pushed 3.55 firmware update to all PS3 consoles.
A new PS3 system software update, v3.55, will be released soon. This is a minor update that adds a security patch.
Some have thought it was because of the recent news of X3Max's 3.50 jailbreak. However, how can Sony block something that has yet to be released? So the obvious reason for the update is because of the downgrader that was released last week by PS Jailbreak.
The FACTORY SERVICE MODE still works using an E3 Card Reader or Original PS Jailbreak, but the (lv2diag.self file_1) has been revoked by Sony if the system is v3.55. So there is no downgrading but the second file (lv2diag.self file_2) was not. So at least Sony does not want you stuck in FACTORY SERVICE MODE and allows the user to return his machine back to a normal state to be able to go back online and play games.

Original PS Jailbreak PSJailbreak USB

PS Jailbreak is also capable of downgrading. PSDowngrade is FREE and unlimited with all PS Jailbreaks! You MUST have an original PS Jailbreak to use this software. Each dongle has a special serial number that is verified during the process of downgrading.
Specifications :- PS Jailbreak is a USB plug and play solution that installs in seconds, keeping your valid warranty seal in tact.
- Easy to use installer and GUI takes you step by step.
- Compatible with all production models FAT and SLIM. Supports all regions: USA, JAP, PAL and KOREA
- PS Jailbreak disables forced software updates and will never brick your console.
- Supports all games (it does not allow backups of Blu-Ray movies, DVD movies or past consoles games)
- Backup games to your internal hard drive or external hard drive through USB, and boot directly off GUI. Eliminating the need for expensive Blu-Ray burners and costly blank media.
- Play backups off your hard drives 2x as fast as off the Blu-Ray drive. This eliminates lags and glitches to provide you with smoother game play.
- Open up your console to a new generation of homebrew applications. Load homebrew apps/games off any USB hard drive/flash drive.
- Fully updatable with new features/updates by connecting PS Jailbreak to any computers USB port.
Quality/Usability : I will be splitting this review into two parts. First part will be about the PS Jailbreak itself and the second part will be about the PS Downgrade.
PS Jailbreak is the pioneer and the reason why we have the ability to jailbreak our PS3's. I won't get into who found/started what but PSJB was the first to bring the product to the market/scene. They have gone through a lot of criticism, heat, not to mention Sony's MIB team (lawyers) and lawsuits. Some resellers got burned as well due to Sony winning a court junction and seizing all PS Jailbreaks. However, that has not stopped resellers or PSJB. They are back and stronger with new features. If you've seen or know about how jailbreaking a PS3 works, this is nothing different. Don't forget where PSGroove/PSFreedom got it from.
But of course, once there is a hot product, the flood gates of clones start to appear. The PS Jailbreak that you see online from reputable new sites were "betas" and eventually clones started to use the same casing to pass off as authentics. The final product still looks exactly the same but there are some slight differences. The authentic and final version does not have a cutout on the top of the dongle (as shown below). Also, the PS Jailbreak logo is no longer printed on the dongle, rather it is now etched onto the metal casing and the opening in the back is now sealed with clear epoxy. But of course, if you purchased a PS Jailbreak and it costs under $80, you just bought yourself a clone.
Requirements for Jailbreak :- 3.41 firmware must be installed on the console
*Please Note: If you want to increase the size of your internal hard drive make sure to do it before upgrading to 3.41
- Download Backup Manager or homebrew applications/games and copy it to any external USB storage device formatted with FAT32.
Operation :- The console MUST be fully OFF (NOT in STANDBY mode) before connecting the USB PS Jailbreak. Depending on the console version you MUST:
PlayStation 3 - FAT. Just turn off the console from the rear switch.
PlayStation 3 - SLIM. It is essential to disconnect the power cord from the back of the console.
Connect PS Jailbreak to any USB port on the console, taking care not to have anything else connected by USB.
- Press the POWER button on the console and then pressed the EJECT button. You will see the two LEDs on the PS Jailbreak illuminate while powering ON the console (10 seconds), then one of several things can happen:
- The Green LED is lit. This means that the PS Jailbreak is working properly.
- The Red LED is lit. This means that the PS has not loaded correctly Jailbreak. Usually this happens when not properly pressed Power sequence and then Eject.
- If the end result is the bright Red LED, we repeat the process from the beginning with the precaution of disconnecting the power cord from the back of the PlayStation 3 Slim or cut the current from the switch at the back of the PlayStation 3 Fat.
- Once PS Jailbreak the device is loaded correctly, connect the USB external storage device with the Backup/Open Manager or your homebrew applications/games to the console.
- Go to the GAME menu and then to the option "Install Package Files", select your Backup/Open Manager or your homebrew applications/games.
- Once install is completed, at the end of the Games menu, your installed files will appear. Select it and run.
- If you chose Backup/Open Manager, follow the instructions of the manager.
Even though PSJB is the pioneer of PS3 jailbreaking, they are the slowest in releasing updates. With releases of Hermes and KaKaRoTo PL3 payloads, PS Jailbreak had nothing. No updates with the latest payloads or even of their own. They left PS Jailbreak owners waiting or even having to spend additional money to get a USB development board just to have the latest payloads. While people were able to go on PSN (before Sony blocked that exploit), PS Jailbreak owners had to sit and watch. This also goes for their Backup Manager. Once developers found out how to reverse engineer and make their own, PSJB team just sat there. When the team did finally release an update to Backup Manager 1.1, we all thought it was going to be groundbreaking and something totally new. Instead, it was a complete dud with no new features or anything jaw-dropping.
Conclusion : Overall, the Original PS Jailbreak PSJailbreak USB is the first USB jailbreak device for the PlayStation 3 and opened the gates to what we have now. But the lack of support such as updates for the PS Jailbreak dongle, Backup Manager and constant delays really hurt its reputation. The price point also hurt them because not many people wanted to spend $100+ when they can simply purchase a USB development board for under $35 and get the latest support from other developers. I can justify spending $100+ if there was constant support and updates. The engineering department are smart and I give them the credit but their marketing strategy isn't. The specification above states that it supports all games. At the moment, it does not but this also goes for the open source PSGroove. Disables forced software updates? Not really.
If I start to see more coming from the PSJB team, I can justify spending $100. But in its current state with rarely any updates to help with compatibility with games and lack of update to their Backup Manager, I'd stick with PSGroove. But now that PSJB released PSDowngrade, this helps ease the pain of having to spend $100, if you're in need of a downgrader and a jailbreak device.

The makers of X3MAX claim that they have Jailbroken a v3.50 console, no need for any downgrade! You can read our full review of the X3Max here!
And this is the third major advance in the world of hack Playstation 3: The jailbreak firmware 3.50 the PS3 by Team X3. After the jailbreak firmware up to 3.41, then downgrade the firmware 3.50, now the X3 team has managed to run homebrew on official firmware 3.50 without downgrading!
The announcement is important, and Logic-Sunrise has done well to have bet on this team. 2 big questions:
- Games like Gran Turismo 5 (requires firmware 3.50) work?
- This update is compatible with the X3max? Is it free?
We have that kind of information on LS in a few hours, but the feedback I have from them show a free and compatibility with X3max with an update, but I prefer to have confirmation. Until we have more information, a video of the feat.
Some have questioned if this is the 3.50 Spoof but its not due to date in video and Sony blocking access to PSN. Some have also questioned that this may be a debug unit. There are many assumptions as to how the X3Max team were able to conquer this but my source at X3Max has confirmed that it is indeed LEGIT. We'll have to wait a couple more days for this to be released.
*UPDATE*
X3Max has now confirmed it on their Twitter account.

How to downgrade firmware 3.42/3.50 or above to firmware 3.41 with E3 Card Reader :- Download and extract "e3downgrade_12.03.rar" to your computer
- Insert E3 Card Reader into the USB port of your computer.
- On your file browser, open "E3Upgrader"
- Drag and drop .bin file from "e3downgrade_12.03.rar" into "E3Upgrader"
- Red LED will flash. When you see the blue LED, that means the upgrade is successful and complete.
- Remove E3 Card Reader from computer
- Insert E3 Card Reader device that has been reprogrammed as downgrader into your console
- Turn on the console using the same boot method as all other jailbreaks: Press power then immediately press eject. Your console will turn on and E3 Card Reader will light up red LED followed by blue LED
- Turn off system via menu
- Remove E3 Card Reader dongle and turn on console to make sure you are in Factory Service Mode.
- (Optional) – If you wish to downgrade to any older firmware you can follow step 4, 5, 6 using any regular firmware PUP.
To go back to E3 Card Reader jailbreak device, just drag back the normal .bin files. - e3 card reader, new generation ps3 chip with mulit-function
