Yesterday, we posted the news and video of Geohot jailbreaking 3.55 firmware and now, he has released the jailbreak. This works for homebrew only.
it's jailbreak time
open the zip, you know how to install
3.55 only
would be pirates, don't waste your time
do not mirror file, link to geohot.com
here is the package from the video
no donations accepted right now, don't get scammed
old homebrew will not work
new homebrew signing tools coming soon...
Note: Current pkgs (homebrew) will not install/run as they will need to be signed for 3.55. Only his "HELLO WORLD" will work...at the moment. So please be patient.
Extract and copy the update file — PS3UPDAT.PUP — to /PS3/UPDATE on a USB mass storage device. Connect that device to your PS3 and flash it through Settings -> System Update.
If you installed KaKaRoTo-created PUPs, this will not work. You will need to go back to OFW 3.55.
*UPDATE 1/9/11*
Geohot has released the signing tools...
homebrew signing tools
don't mirror
linux and windows
make_self_npdrm makes valid NPDRM selfs from elfs
it does not contain any info on decrypting or removing NPDRM
NPDRM is required for interoperability of our homebrew applications
package_finalize turns your debug packages into psuedoretail packages
psuedoretail packages install on a geohot jailbroken PS3
i'm excited to see what you will create
open source SDK @ PSL1GHT
Source code is now available at https://github.com/geohot/ps3publictools
This allows you to sign homebrew .pkgs. All this is legal as was made with PSL1GHT which is an open source SDK.

4-Port USB Hub SD Card Reader Slim
Manufacturer: N/A
Site: Buy from LighTake
Price: $8.60
Overview : This item is only suitable for Sony PS3 Slim; it has two USB interfaces, four USB ports and one SD card slot, really a useful and multifunctional item.
Features :- Dedicated to expand the USB port of the PS3-Slim console and also enhance its card reader functions
- It looks exquisite and is quite convenient to use
- Just insert two USB plug into the corresponding USB interface of the console, and then you can use it
- In addition, when playing games, you can insert and charge four original controllers simultaneously
- Also, you can insert the SD card into the SD interface to use on the PS3-Slim console
- It is very easy, convenient and indeed a necessity for gamers
Quality/Usability : Whenever there is a new smaller model of the console, not only is cost of manufacturing cheaper but somethings are also removed to keep costs down. In the case of the PlayStation 3, the Phat version (earlier models) started off having 4 USB ports and a card reader. With the PS3 Slim, its down to 2 USB ports and no card reader at all. With 2 USB ports, there is not much you can do if you have to charge more than 2 electronic devices.
In comes a 4-port USB Hub with SD Card Reader for the PS3 Slim. Since the PS3 Slim only has 2 USB ports, the hub occupies both ports. Essentially, you're only gaining 2 additional USB ports. The SD card slot allows you to view and/or transfer music, video and pictures. Unfortunately, you still can not charge your controller or electronic device through USB unless the PS3 is fully turned on. No more wire mess or tangled wires since the hub blends in with the PS3 Slim pretty well.
The USB hub does not fit completely in the PS3 Phat as the bottom of the PS3 Phat (when laid horizontal) gets in the way. If it did fit, the 3rd USB port is blocked, leaving only the 4th USB port free to be used.
Instructions :- First ensure that your PS3 Slim console is powered off.
- Insert the 4-Port USB Hub SD Card Reader Slim into the USB port on the console, and the buckle position is upward, press it gently and pull outward when removing it.
- When using the USB cord to power your PS3 wireless controller, please give priority to use the USB 1 interface.
- You can have multiple USB controllers plugged in during a game.
- When using the SD card reader, you can store file(s) inside the SD card onto the PS3 Slim console. You can also copy the file(s) onto the SD card.
Conclusion : Overall, the 4-Port USB Hub SD Card Reader Slim adds 2 additional USB ports and a SD Card Reader to the PlayStation 3. PS3 Phat owners do not need to look at this since there is no need for this. This is a great addition for those looking for additional USB ports without wires coming out of the USB port. The USB hub is perfect for Rockband and Guitar Hero gamers looking for additional USB ports. It would have been nice if it only occupied 1 USB port leaving the 2nd port free for additional use. 2 additional USB ports may not be much but its 2 more than what you had before.

Supercard DSonei Mini Review.
Hello guys , today I am going to review the latest product Supercard DSonei Mini from Supercard team . First of all I'd like to thank
Introduction
The Supercard team has been into the flashcart business for many years now , if my memory serves right , they started out with carts for the Gameboy Advance which is still on sale at many stores . With their great success of Supercard DSTwo which is claimed to be the best flashcart in the DS market , supercard team is getting more and more famous . They are now known for providing frequent update to meet the customer's requirements (even beyond it) , keep their promise , their products really work . Now they released a new flashcart Supercard DSonei Mini .
Packaging
The packaging of Supercard DSonei Mini is a bit different from other carts , as you see above , it's a square box instead of rectangle anymore . I've to say it's a revolution move since with this slight improvement supercard team successfully saved many trees (if the paper is made by tree . JOKE , of course) . Actually I don't like the layout of the packaging ,not as good as previous carts, personally taste though .
Inside the casing is the DSonei Mini itself and the manual , At least better than Acekard 2i (no manual comes with Acekard 2i :moogle: ). The manual is well written with 6 different language : Chinese , English , Japanese , Spanish , German ,Spanish , French . Cool , all NDS system owners are Supercard team's target :yaynds:
Build Quality
I am pretty satisfied with the build quality . It is either held together by weak glue together with a screw in the bottom on the back which make it steady , as least much better than Acekard 2i .
The LESCDS2 is not mine. D:
Well , I happen to be the proud owner's neighbor of a LIMITED EDITION Supercard DSTwo , Of course , compared to it the DSonei Mini bowed his head .
That's how far the DSonei Mini goes out by ejecting it via spring.
Software:
what does it mean
I've no idea what does this icon mean , I am considering if it means it successfully bypass DSi 1.4.1 . Should be , since recently many people are asking new flashcart that work on 1.4.1 .
Supercard DSTwo is too expensive to some people , after shoptemp stop selling pre-flashed acekard 2i , people really have not many choice as the R4 brand always can't upgrade as expected . I am not sure if this DSone Mine is pre-flashed or not as my DSi is on 1.3 , so guys please tell me if you know something about it . :yaywii:
Actually I was a Wood R4 user , it really took me almost an hour to enable the ingame menu (no kidding). Because the instructions in the official site told me to press LR + ABXY together after successfully loads the rom . I've tried many times , no luck . After google thousands times , I finally got it : Just press L + R + START if you wanna boot the ingame menu . Oh yeah , I can't wait to test the real time save since sometimes to find the save point really almost kill me especially when I am leaving the bus :angry2: . Yep , it works like a charm , it must be one of the most happy time for me , like the Magic . :grog:
Compatibility :
NDS Roms:
- Golden Sun:Dark Dawn
- Call of Duty: Black Ops
- Rune Factory
- MegaManZX Advent
- Phoenix Wright - Trials and Tribulations
- Mario Party DS
- Advance Wars: Days of Ruin
- Professor Layton and the Curious Village
- Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney
- Final Fantasy IV
- Kirby Super Star Ultra
- Time Hollow
- Castlevania Order of Ecclesia
- Dragon Ball Origins
- Pokemon Ranger - Shadows of Almia
- Metal Slug 7
Yawn. As expected, all the major titles worked without a hitch. This includes Real Time Menu. There will obviously be a few games that don't work (and sometimes it's on a per user basis), but even if they don't you can tell the Supercard team and they'd most likely fix it in the next update.
Homebrew:
- Pocket Physics
- Video Games Hero
- Super Smash Bros. Clash
- Moonshell 2.10 Stable
Most homebrew games/apps work perfectly.
Pros and Cons
Pros:- Real time save , Real time Guide
- Support MP3,Moive,TXT directly.
- Friend GUI
- multi-save support
Cons:- The price is not very competitive
Conclusion:
Packaging: 7/10
Build Quality: 9.5/10
Software: 9/10
Overall : 8.5/10
I'd like to thanks Slickgate.com again for sending me this cart , and thank you guys for reading this review , I will be back . :gba:

KaKaRoTo known for his PL3 payload and most recent custom firmware, has just tweeted some very exciting news. PS3 users everywhere will finally be able to downgrade their 3.55 consoles. KaKaRoTo, with the help of fellow dev, Xtse, has stated that he successfully downgraded his 3.55 console to 3.41. However, due to the possible risk of bricking your console, he is not quite ready to reveal the method. Once it is more stable, KaKaRoTo will release the downgrade.
First downgrade from 3.55 to 3.41 successful, Thanks to Xtse! Method not yet ready for the masses because of risk of bricking the ps3.

Geohot is finally able to jailbreak the 3.55 firmware that will come in a PUP file which means a CFW! George Hotz has stated that there will be no “peek & poke” in his PUP which would then enable mass piracy of PS3 games in the scene.
There is no word on release date but this does look promising.
