News from Team Cyclops:
Important Announcement
It has come to our attention that a limited number of Cyclowiz units from the latest batch have an issue which will disable functionality. Due to a problem at the PCB factory, the A, B and C points of the CycloWiz are connected together. Unfortunately, some of them were already shipped to customers. All customers should verify that they do not have one of the affected Cyclowiz before installing their chip. Please refer to our identification guide below.
We offer a free replacement for each defective unit through our retailer network. Should you have a defective unit, please contact your retailer to arrange replacement immediately.
Those who do not wish to wait for a replacement unit can try to fix the chip by themselves, should they so desire, using this tutorial. Should you wish to try this method but are ultimately unsuccessful, we'll replace the chip even if it's damaged during the modification procedure.
We will also offer free replacements with D2B chipset support for people who have a D2B console and a CycloWiz from an the first batch which doesn't support D2B chipset. If your chip came in a branded CycloWiz ESD bag, it means that it already supports the D2B chipset.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused to those affected. Customer satisfaction is very important to us, we'll make sure this kind of problem won't happen again. Should you have any questions, feel free to contact: tech@teamcyclops.com
Be sure to check out our Official CycloWiz / WiiKey / Wiinja Modchip Reseller/Installer List.

Quality/Usability : (excerpt from our Wii Component Review)With Nintendo own Official component cables being sold out and hard to find, 3rd party manufacturers are releasing their own.
Those who have high-definition TV sets must and I mean MUST get component cables for all their home consoles. If you have a high-def TV and still using composite cables, why even own a high-def TV in the first place?!
Component cables make a huge difference when it comes to graphics, details and color. The quality of these component cables are great. They're definitely better than composite cables that came with the Nintendo Wii console. Unfortunatley, since I couldnt get my hands on Nintendo's component cable, I can't compare.
This is Penguin United's third component cable. The other two iare Regular Component Cable and Gold Plated Component Cable. Is there a difference at all between the three? I personally do see a difference between the three. I honestly have to say, the Premium Component Cable is up there with the high-end cables. This is actually on par with Nintendo's own component cable.
The clarity and colors are a lot clearer. Objects are more defined, colors are more vibrant, just all around its better. I tried the cables on multiple TV sets and each TV set displayed nice images.
The quality of the cables are top notch and look professional. Like the Gold Plated component cables, the Premium component cable also has a nylon mesh on the cables. The cables are white.
Conclusion : Overall, the Penguin United Component Cable (Premium) is a excellent substitute to the Official Nintendo Component Cable. The quality is on par with the Nintendo brand. If you have the few extra bucks to burn, I suggest picking up the Premium cables.

Wii Boxing Gloves
Manufacturer: PEGA
Site: Buy from Goldenshop
Price: $22.00
Overview : Feel like you're in the ring with Mike Tyson, without having to get your ear bitten off! This cool product from Pega brings new life to the boxing game in the Wii Sports package. Simply stick your Nunchuk and Wii-mote controllers into each glove, link them up and it's seconds out, Round 1! Gloves are fully padded to protect you, the controllers and whoever you might accidentily hit! Adjustable straps to suit most sizes. Get one, it's a lot of fun!
Features :- High quality 3rd party product.
- Enhance the joy of playing.
- Easy to use.
Quality/Usability : As we were the first ones to bring you news regarding the Wii Boxing Gloves. We also mentioned that we would bring a review as well and here is the very first Wii Boxing Gloves REVIEW!
So how is it? Its got its share of good and of course, its got its share of bad. So lets start the review!. The quality of the gloves are well made. Its light weight and feels great in the hands. There are velcro straps to tighten the gloves to your hands. The glove itself is pretty much a one size fits all. If you have small hands, it will be loose.
Now the controllers. The controllers go inside the big padded pouch. Right hand for Wii Remote and left hand for the Nunchuk. Inside the pouch is a styrofoam cushin with cutouts for the shape of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. The cord on the attachment and strap on the Wii Remote go through a little opening on the flap cover of the gloves. Once the Wii Remote and Nunchuk are connected together and placed inside the cushion and the cushion is inside the glove, thats when we run into problems.
Theres no way to press buttons. In order to press buttons, you have to remove the styrofoam cushion to access the Wii Remote. Putting it back together to get ready to play a game isnt easy either as you'll need two free hands to help shove the cushion into the pouch of the glove. The time it takes to put the cushion/controller into the pouch, you're getting your butt whooped by your computer opponent. If you use controller gloves like I do, its a very very tight fit and you'll need to take them off if you're using a glove..thats if you want to use the cushion.
Even if you take out the cushion and just stick the remotes into the pouch, you'll be able to access the buttons but you still have problems. Once the Wii Remote is placed into the glove, you cant select anything on the screen since the Wii Sensor Bar doesnt recognize the Wii Remote since the glove is blocking the IR. So you'll have to take the Wii Remote out just to aim and select what you want. Once you have selected what you want, you have to stick the remote back into the glove. At least this option is a little easier than with the styrofoam cushion.
If you're able to put up with all that hassle, gameplay is somewhat smooth sailing. Although the Wii Sensor Bar doesnt recognize the Wii Remote for you to point and select your options, it recognizes the movement of the controllers..but not completely accurate. Just holding the controllers without the use of gloves isnt accurate to begin with. Its a little harder to do uppercuts and those side-punches. Since the wires are coming out of the top of the controller gloves, the cord may get in the way of gameplay.
Conclusion : Overall, the Wii Boxing Gloves is just a gimmick. The idea is great but the design is poor. Cord being in the way, Wii Remote not being recognized when it comes to selecting things thus having to remove the styrofoam cushion and remote just to select what you want. By the time you're done fiddling with selecting and placing it back into the pouch, you dont want to bother anymore. You're pretty much either in between rounds resting or given up and got KO'd.
If they were to revise the controller glove, I suggest not having the styrofoam cushion over the remote but under it. This will allow user to have access to buttons without having to take out the controller. A cut out for the IR would be need so it is visible to communicate with the sensor bar. And maybe something with the wires where they are at the bottom of the glove rather than at the top. There were a couple of times where I got smacked in the face.

You might already be familiar with the Nerf PS2 controller, a foam-covered wireless game pad that can survive the angry throws of frustrated gamers. Now Nerf is getting into the Wii accessory game, and televisions everywhere might be a little bit safer for it.
Performance Designed Products, the gaming accessory company that developed the Nerf PS2 controller, recently showed off the Nerf Sports Pack for Nintendo Wii at Toy Fair New York 2007. The Nerf Sports Pack includes a Nerf foam sleeve for the Wii remote and three Nerf sports attachments--a foam golf club, baseball bat, and tennis racket. It's very similar to a previous Wii Sports Pack we've seen, only this one is soft, cushiony foam rather than hard, screen-shattering plastic. Just remember that regardless of what they're made of, you shouldn't throw things at your television.
We don't have any pricing for the Nerf Sports Pack yet, but it will probably retail for around $15 to $30 when it hits stores this summer.

YONKERS, N.Y., February 12, 2007: Adding to its growing line of gaming headphones, today Turtle Beach announced the Ear Force W3 wireless headphones, designed specifically for use with the Nintendo Wii gaming console system. The W3’s ‘behind the neck’ design keeps them in place, while their connection nature means there are no cords to tangle during the active motions that playing on the Wii can require. The W3 design also complements the Wii color scheme, with a white base and blue accent lettering.
“The Ear Force W3 were designed specifically for the Nintendo Wii experience – they’re so light you can barely tell you’re wearing headphones,” said Seth Dotterer, director of marketing for Turtle Beach. “The Wii can provide great family entertainment, but there are times when you’ll want to play without annoying those around you. Kids can play without disturbing their parents, and adults can play late at night without waking up the neighborhood.”
Based on the same wireless audio technology as the popular Ear Force X2 Xbox® gaming headphones, the W3 can be used with any stereo audio source, such as a TV, PC or MP3 player. The wireless headphones function for over 30 hours with a single AAA battery (included). The Ear Force W3 have an MSRP of $59.95, and are available at retail outlets nationwide, as well as through the Turtle Beach website ( www.TurtleBeach.com) and direct sales center (914-345-2255).
For more information, visit www.turtle-beach.com/site/products/earforce/w3.

Demand for a wireless sensor bar solution for the Wii has been strong since the day the console hit the streets. There are plenty of installation circumstances in which the standard hardwired Wii Sensor Bar doesn't make for a clean installation, like with wall mounted plasmas (like Casamassina) and front-projection systems (Me and Peer), or any arrangement that doesn't situate the Wii within 10 feet of the display. The official Wii Sensor Bar is also a little weak--the console's manual states that it is most effective when a user is no more than 8 feet away, and it begins to get really jittery beyond 20-feet.

Penguin United Component Cable (Gold Plated)
Manufacturer: Penguin United
Site: Buy from Penguin United
Price: $13.99
Overview : Wii component video cable enables 480P (progressive) video display resolution between the Wii console and your Television. This enhanced version of our popular orginal Penguin United Wii Component Cable comes with 24K gold plating for enhanced data transmission rate and durable outer nylon braid. Cable is to be used for Nintendo Wii Console only, comes with 1 year manufacturer's warranty. Cable Length 6 feet or 1.8M
The cables looks like the regular Penguin United Component Cable. Only difference is that the gold plated cables has a mesh covering on the cables and gold plated tips on the plugs.
Comparing the regular version and the gold plated version, there wasnt a big difference when it comes to quality. They pretty much looked the same with some exceptions of a few less jaggies that you would see on the regular component cable that you wouldnt see on the gold plated. The colors on the other hand were slightly more vibrant.
The length of the cable is is the same, measuring 6 feet. The mesh look to the cable is a nice touch and makes the stand out from the rest of the cables on the market.
The company also offers a 1 year warranty on all their products which is great for those who live in the US since the company is also located in the US.
Conclusion : Overall, the Penguin United Component Cable (Gold Plated) looks identical to the regular cable with the addition of mesh. There was some slight differences between the gold plated and regular cables but wasnt too noticeable unless you were looking for them. If you dont have a keen eye for detail, stick with the regular component cable as you wont notice a difference.
