PSP Analog Stick Armor Kit
Manufacturer: 3rd Party
Site: Buy from Brando
Price: $6.00
Overview : Analog stick replacement kit for your PSP.
Features :- Easy to install and use
- 5 different sizes and height to fit different player
- Soft rubber for comfortable playing
- Pack of 5
Quality/Usability : Here is an alternative to the stock analog nub. These analog sticks will add some height and make gameplay more comfortable. I bet those who first got their PSP was in disgust with the analog nub. It was small and hard to use because you were use to the PlayStation analog stick.
With the PSP analog, it was short, close to the system and uncomfortable to play with. With the analog stick replacements, this will add height and will enable you to use the analog without any discomfort.
Although it says it is made of soft rubber, it feels more like plastic or hard rubber. There are three sizes; 11mm, 15mm, 20mm. With the 15mm and 20mm there are two different types. The analog either curves in thus making a little "ditch" or it bulges (similar to the PlayStation analog). I personally prefer the analog stick that is curved in rather then the ones that bulges up. The 11mm is similar to the stock analog nub but sticks up away from the PSP rather than being close to it.
Installation is simple. Just pop out the old one and pop in the new one. Only downfall when using these analog sticks is that if you have a class that is snug and close to the PSP (i.e. Logitech PlayGear Pocket), you'll have to remove the analog sticks inorder to be able to close the case.
Conclusion : Overall, if you hate the stock analog nub and you're looking for something that will make your thumb feel more comfortable, this may be for you. Although it says its made of soft rubber, its more like hard rubber to me. With cases being produced these days, you'll have to remove the analog stick inorder to fit your PSP into the carry case and be able to close it. If you do detach the analog, becareful not to loose it.

PSP Extra Button
Manufacturer: 3rd Party
Site: Buy from Brando
Price: $5.00
Overview : It is perfect designed for PSP. Making you control more comfortable and excellent feeling for playing action/fighting games.
Features :- Easy to install
- Make you more comfortable for playing action/fighting games
- Includes 2 Analog sticks
Quality/Usability : For those who love playing fighting games but hate the directional pad on the PSP and cant throw a single fireball, this is an option. For those who know, Capcom released a directional pad "mod" when they release Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max (aka Street Fighter Zero 3: Double Upper in Japan) as a promotional item for those who ordered from Capcom. Here is an image of it:
Image from IGN
Those who didnt order from Capcom, were screwed and left to use the directional button. The PSP Extra Button is an alternative to those who dont want finger cramps or the annoyance of losing because they cant throw a fireball.
The d-pad is made of hard plastic. Under the d-pad mod are four small stickies that attach to the directional pad on the PSP. Although when they are first applied, they stick. But if you have a case that is near flush to the screen of the PSP, you'll need to remove the d-pad mod. This can be a problem. Each time you remove the d-pad mod, the stickies get worn and dirty and eventually become useless. There is no way to keep the stickies clean once it is exposed. This goes for the same made by Capcom. Overtime, the stickies get worn out.
But for the short time that the d-pad mod sticks, it does a great job. Its not perfect, but its better then the directional pad on the PSP.
The analog nubs isnt really anything special. I prefer the stock analog stick since its rubber. The analog sticks included in the PSP Extra Button are just replacement for those who either lost or broke the original analog nub.
Conclusion : Overall, this is a cheap alternative to fixing the directional pad problems. Only if there was a way to attach the d-pad mod ontop of the directional pad without stickies it would have been better. To me, the analog nubs are useless. For those interested and have double sided tape, you can remove the stickies that are under the d-pad mod and place your own. If you want something more permanent, there are more heavy duty double sided tapes in stores (i.e. car shops, etc.), if not, any stationary store should carry them.

Nyko PSP Theater Experience
Manufacturer: Nyko
Site: Buy from Divineo UK
Price: £54.95 ($85.59 USD)
Overview : The Theater Experience for PSP is a one-of-a-kind case for the PSP. The black, brushed aluminum case features two hi-fi stereo speakers, a rechargeable battery and an angled stand for the PSP. The high fidelity stereo speakers provide sound that is crisp, clean and balanced. The built-in lithium-ion rechargeable battery adds 7 hours of additional battery life for marathon movie and gaming sessions. The Theater Experience will even recharge your PSP 2-3 times before needing to be recharged itself. The angled system stand provides an ideal viewing angle for watching movies on the PSP. All of this plus dual headphone jacks, an audio line in port and a power extension cord for using the PSP outside the case are included in the sleek and stylish Theater Experience for PSP.
Features :- Adds 7 hours of playtime to the PSP
- High fidelity speakers deliver full, rich sound
- The case acts as an external power source to recharge the PSP without being plugged into an outlet
- Dual Headphone Jacks
- Form-fitted neoprene lining
- Stylish aluminum case
- System stand angles PSP for ideal viewing
- Included AC and stereo cables allow you to play, charge or listen to the PSP outside of the case
- Uses PSP AC adaptor
Quality/Usability : First, I'll talk about the first version of the case. At the end, I'll talk about the revised version of the case that Nyko released.
Upon opening and taking a look at the PSP Theater Experience, it looks sleek and nice looking made of aluminum. Holding it is a different story. Its a little heavy and long. The front of the case has dual headphone jacks and a DC-IN and DC-OUT port and is protected by rubber inserts. The rubber inserts seem a little flimsy as they come out sometimes and don't really stay in the case.
When you open the case you'll see two amp speakers on the underside of the front cover. One on the left and one on the right. The bottom of the case houses a cradle. Foam is used as protection that is placed at the bottom and underside of the front cover of the case. The cradle that holds the PSP has two plugs that will plug into the PSP; stereo and DC plug. The stereo will transmit sound to the two amp speakers on the case and the DC plug will charge the PSP when it is docked. On the back of the cradle are two stands that fold out to hold the PSP up.
Inserting the PSP is a relatively simple process. Just tilt the cradle upwards, and slide the PSP from the top into the plugs on the cradle. You wont be able to access the memory stick slot. Accessing all the buttons on the front of the PSP are easily accessible but reaching to WiFi or Power switch is a little tough. There are indents on the cradle to reach the switches with your fingers but for someone with fat or big fingers, you'll have a hard time.
The main purpose of the Theater Experience is to enhance the experience of watching movies on your PSP without having to hold the PSP in your hands. Playing games while its connected to the case is not a good idea. You'll have a hard time playing as it was not designed to be played while its in the case. But Nyko lets you use the Theater Experience as speakers rather then using the PSP speakers. Just simply use the included audio cables, plug one end to the PSP and the other end into the Audio-In on the theater Experience. Running low on battery on the PSP? No problem, Nyko also includes a cable that lets you plug one end into the PSP and the other end into the DC-Out. So now, not only can you use the Theater Experience as external speakers, but you can also charge your PSP while playing.
So yes, you can use your CD Player, Apple iPod or any device and use the theater experience as your external speakers. Just use the included audio cable and plug them into their respective ports.
Don't want to disturb people around you or can't hear? Just insert your headphones into the port and enjoy. Your friend can even join in since the case has two headphone jacks.
How's the battery life you must ask. Well its pretty good. It takes about 6-8 hours to fully charge. Solid green light means its charging, blinking green light means its done charging and red means its low on power and needs to charge. Once its fully charged, you can charge the PSP 2-3 times before having to charge the case itself.
While charging the case, you'll hear a humming noise. There is no way of avoiding this as there is no ON/OFF switch. Even when the amp speakers are in use whether its a MP3 playing, movie playing or you playing a game, you'll hear a slight humming. It does get annoying. It also distorts and washes out the sound.
Although it doesnt come with any power adapters, you don't need it. You can use the power adapter that came with the PSP to charge. If you're like me and use a USB cable to charge the PSP, I suggest not to as it requires alot more power then the PSP, so you might get an error on your computer regarding the USB device. Don't worry though, nothing will catch on fire or anything.
Conclusion : Overall, the case is nicely designed. There are some minor flaws such as rubber inserts that protect the front ports (headphones, DC ports). The only major problem I know of is the humming noise. Would of been to include an ON/OFF switch.
NEW REVISED THEATER EXPERIENCE
Quality/Usability : Yes, Nyko released a revised and updated version of the Theater Experience. There are some added features and some flaws that were present in the predecessor that is not on the current version.
First, the case still has the rubber insert problems. They just don't want to stay in. Its not a big problem but it would be nice if they actually worked.
Second, some new additions to the case. There is a ON/OFF switch at the bottom of the case that lets you charge the PSP while its docked in the cradle. If the switch is on OFF, it will not charge the PSP using the built-in battery. And of course, if the switch is ON, it will charge the PSP. Another added ON/OFF is the ability to turn on/off the amp speakers. The button is located on the left amp speaker. By pushing the button in, this turns on the speakers and a red light is indicated. Pushing the button again, pops it out and the red light goes out. This means the speakers are off.
Access to the WiFi and Power switch still lacks the room for those with thick or big fingers. So you'll either have to find something thing to help you get access to those switch or you'll have to take the PSP out to access them.
Other then that, the design of the case is still the same. Oh yea, what about the humming situation? You'll be glad to know that it is no longer there. No humming when the speakers are in use and no humming when the case is charging. No distoration in the sound at all and is crystal clear.
Conclusion : Overall, Nyko did a great job with the revised version. They fixed the major problem with the humming sound. It was a great idea to add the power button for the speakers as well as the ON/OFF switch to charge the PSP. All those other minor flaws were still present but those are really no biggy and nothing is perfect.

Official Sony Screen Protector
Manufacturer: Sony
Site: Buy from Play-Asia
Price: $7.00
Overview : Official screen protector for your PSP. Protects PSP screen from dust, finger prints and scratches.
Features :- Protect the screens of your PSP from dust, finger prints and scratches
- Easy to attach and remove
- Official Sony Product
Quality/Usability : Sony is a little late with releasing a screen protector of their own. But at the same time, people should know that the first thing to get is a screen protector. If you dont, you do now.
Applying the screen protector is fairly simple. If you place the screen protector is placed slightly off and you're anal like me, its easy to lift up and replace again. If there is a bubble or a small piece of dust/dirt inbetween the protector and screen, all you have to do is just lift up the corner where the debris is and use a piece of scotch tape to remove the debris.
When I place any screen protectors, I dont use my fingers. I use two pieces of scotch tapes, one on the top right corner and one on the bottom right (if there is no tap on the screen protector). This allows me to align the screen protector before placing it down.
The screen protector itself is pretty clear. No haziness, cloudness or anything that would disturb your gaming.
Conclusion : Overall, its a great 1st party accessory but late to the scene. If you're a Sony whore, this is up your ally. If you already have a HORI (MSRP $5) or Martin Fields (MSRP $12-15) screen protector, then stick with those. No point in switching to something just for name brand. BTW, this is only available overseas. You would think that Sony would release this stateside as well..No.

It seems the website has been mentioned in Slashdot..
After reading some of the reviews, some believe these reviews are biased, unbiased or insightful. To be honest, these arent biased or anything along the lines. These are no fanboy review. These are from my own opinions from what I have gathered from reviewing the product. Who am I trying to impress? Who am I trying to sell myself to? No one. Sony doesnt make these products.
All these products are 3rd party accessories. Do you see any of these at your local GameStop, Electronics Boutique, or Best Buy? No. So what is the purpose of this site? To inform people of other products out on the market that may interest them.
Yes, some people may not agree with my scores but these are MY opinions. If you think I'm biased or whatnot, thats your opinion. But before you judge my reviews, ask yourself this.. do different people have different tastes which results in different opinions? Do you own the product? You cant judge an item by its look or by its cover, as an old saying goes.
If you're interested in an item, dont go by one review, and this includes this websites. Go read others and see what others have to say (their OWN opinion) about the product before you make a purchase. Any site you go to, its based on their own opinions. When you go read reviews on games, do you go by only one site? When you read reviews on either a car, camera, TV, or any gadget, do you go by one review? No, you read multiple to get a sense of the PROs and CONs of the product.
I'm not going to ramble on, but if you cant accept other peoples opinion you're not very open-minded at all. If you have any comments, suggestions or questions, feel free to post them here.

- Ergonomic design: It gives you the feel of a Playstation 2™ Dual Shock controller for a more familiar and comfortable gaming experience.
- Built-in car mounting bracket: Us your PSP in a car with a stable display
- Comes with one extra fixup kit
Quality/Usability : Installing the pad to your PSP is fairly simple. It doesn't take a genius. The attached soft cable which has a dummy Memory Stick Pro Duo goes into the memory stick slot of the PSP. This acts as a pass-thru between your CF, SD, MMC or MicroDrive. The cable itself feels a little flimsy but in the case that it does break, don't worry, NeoFlash offers replacements. Next, plug the power adapter into the DC port on the PSP. The PSP is held in place by two clips both at the top and bottom.
Before turning on the PSP, insert your choice of media storage into the pad whether its MS, MMC, SD, CF or MicroDrive. But to be clear, you can not use two different sticks at the same time. If you have multiple media storage in the pad, you'll have to remove them or it will choose the default media storage for you.
When you have turned on the Neo-PSP Pad and you have a 4GB Microdrive, you'll notice that there is 3921MB of free storage. Thats right, you officially now have more storage for your movies, music and games (homebrew).
Transfer Times :
Transferring files to PSP and from the PSP to your PC, doesnt take long. It does take longer than the Memory Stick Pro Duo but it is tolerable. When you transfer files, you do the same as if you would if you didnt have the pad (insert cable to the USB port on the PSP).
Movie Playback :
A good reason to have a large storage is to store more files or even big files. Transferring large files can take awhile. Once the transferring is done, its time to play the movie. Everybody's favorite PSPVideo9 was used during this test. A Hitachi 4GB Microdrive was used during testing, not the 4GB Magicstor that is included with the purchase above. I tried two different qualities for the movie. Playing higher quality images looked great. There wasnt any big noticeable skipping. This could be due to the encoding of the movie.
So reencoded the same movie but in a lower quality. There wasnt any skipping at all.
So I guess the higher the quality of the movie, the harder the storage will have to read. This may not be the same for SD or MMC. Its suggested to purchase a Hitachi 4GB as it is faster.
Picture Viewing/MP3 Playback :
Loading movies and pictures were easy and simple. Didnt take long for them to transfer and didnt take long for them to load. There were no lags or any slowdowns when listening to MP3s.
Homebrew :
Playing homebrew was simple. Same procedure when installing files onto your choice of storage. There was no lags or skips. Some games took longer to load than usual. But nothing to be annoyed about.
Controller Feel :
As you can see, the Neo-PSP Pad has the Dualshock-like controller look. It also has the feel as well minus the rumble feature. This is great for those who look to have a better grip whether you have small or big hands.
The back of the grip houses stand. Although its nothing fancy, it does its job and thats all it matters. On the backside of the grips themselves are two battery door covers. These hold two (2) AA batteries in each. You can use regular alkaline or rechargeable batteries. The batteries actually charge the PSP battery for when you're in need of extra juice. You can use your USB cable to charge the PSP through the USB ports on the pad.
Conclusion : Overall, this is a very nice alternative to the Datel 4GB Harddrive. Not only can you use multiple media storages, but you can also charge the PSP either through USB cable or AA batteries. Its lightweight and comfortable to hold. Only a few draw back such as the few hiccups of lag/skipping on higher quality encoded movies and long load times on a few games and transferring files. The cable as mentioned in the beginning feels a little flimsy. But with some care, it would be a problem. Again, they do sell replacement cables. Removing the storage cards are kind of hard to take out..especially if you have big or fat fingers. If they implemented a eject button or something, it would make things alot easier.
*UPDATE*
Now you can upgrade your 8-in-1 to support up to 32GB by doing it yourself! This also works on 2-in-1/4-in-1 PSP Converters. Images attached.

WaterField Designs Mini Gear Pouch
Manufacturer: WaterField Designs
Site: Buy from WaterField Designs
Price: $29.00
Overview : The PSP Mini Gear Pouch is for the gamer on the move. Outside protection from Ballistic and Indium nylon, and padded compartments securely kept in place with a self locking zipper. A main compartment for the PSP, which is kept in place with the zipper closed. Two pockets for game disks and ear buds, and extra space in the middle.
Features :- PSP Mini Gear Pouch - 7.7" x 3.5" x 1.3" 2 oz.
Quality/Usability : The concept of this case is pretty much the same as of that of the Capdase Twin Case that was reviewed. But the Waterfield Pouches take on a whole new look. The cases are made in San Francisco, California..thats right, no overseas manufacturers. Made in the good ole US of A. The PSP Pouches are built from rugged Ballistic nylon, offer ample padding, and secure zippers and seams. Each case has two handy loops for easier carrying or for strapping to your backpack or messenger bag - one vertical loop and one horizontal loop. Both cases (Gear Pouch and Mini Gear Pouch) come in a variety of colors and are priced just as you'd expect.
The Mini Gear Pouch is slightly smaller and measures - 7.7" x 3.5" x 1.3". This is more aimed for those who want to bring only the essentials and not the whole house. The Mini Gear is identical to its bigger pouch with nearly the same layout but lacks an outside zippered pocket. Inside the case, it has a soft, lined compartment for the PSP and an open middle area that can easily hold a USB cord, an extra battery, earphones and memory sticks. The PSP Mini Gear Pouch also has two slots that can fit several UMD games/movies and a few extra things. Unfortunately, since the case is small, there will be no room for the power adapter unless you take out the PSP.
Conclusion : This is probably one of the nicest cases out there. Nothing too fancy and nothing too boring. It does its job and probably more. You dont have to hold your PSP and accessories in here, you can use it for other items such as your digital camera or other electronics, but than whats the point of calling this a PSP Gear Pouch? The sizes of the pouch may turn consumers head away because it does kind of look like a clutch bag that your girlfriend or mother would carry around in their hands. But if you want a nice case to hold your PSP and accessories all in one place, than thats the price we'll have to pay.

Capdase Crystal Clear Case
Manufacturer: Capdase
Site: Buy from Capdase
Price: $15.00
Overview : The Crystal Clear Case lets you view movies without opening the cover as well as easy access to UMD door and memory stick storage.
Features :- Stylish hand strap included
- View movies through crystal clear cover
- Extra color frame included
- Memory card compartments
- 360 degree free angle cover
- Easy access to game disk
- setup stand for movies
Quality/Usability : New case by Capdase. From the start, this kind of looks like the PlayGear Pocket with the clear plastic case. But with the Crystal Clear case, its a little different then the PlayGear Pocket. The Crystal Clear case, there is no colored rubber insert. The PSP itself is held in place by clipping onto the inside of the case. There is no soft or rubber padding. Just clear plastic all around.
The cover of the case doesnt open half way or fold 3/4 of the way. Instead, it opens 360 degrees and rests on the backend of the case so that the cover isnt in the way. It also acts like a mini-grip or so for extra thickness. To close or open the case, there is a clip that is attached to the bottom of the case and clips onto a notch on the cover.
On the backend of the case, you can see two slots for the memory stick. The memory sticks are held in place tight. Where the memory sticks are held, is actually a door. This is access the UMD tray if you need to change a UMD or get a memory stick out without having to remove the PSP. The door itself opens 3/4 of the way but not completely flat. The door latches onto the case by snapping on. With the backdoor open and the UMD tray open, getting access to the UMD is a little tight. The top of the case gets in the way.
You can personalize your Crystal Clear case with a different color frame. These frames are plastic. To swap the frames, you simply just pop off the one you want to remove and snap on the one you want. It takes a couple of seconds. Too bad its not held tight because it will pop out if it is hit.
The top of the case has openings for the L and R triggers as well as the OPEN button for the UMD tray. Unfortunately, due to the thickness of the case, the opening to the OPEN button is deep in there. If you have big/thick fingers, you'll have a hard time getting to it. Access to the memory stick is easily accessible since there is a open gap.
Conclusion : Overall, this is a nice looking case since you can look at movies without having to open the case but protection wise, there is no padding at all. The stylish color frames come off too easily. Trying to push the OPEN button for the UMD tray to open, there isnt enough room especially for those with thick/big fingers. And the opening, once the UMD tray door is open isnt big enough. The top of the case covers it. Nice attempt but it falls short. This is only good if you plan to watch movies or listen to MP3s and want to look at it when the case is closed.

SLAPPA Hardbody Daily Case
Manufacturer: SLAPPA
Site: Buy from SLAPPA
Price: $19.99
Overview : The HardBody PSP Daily Case features the same highly protective xEVA shell as SLAPPA's award-winning HardBody CD and DVD line. Protects your PSP, and carries up to 2 UMDs and your accessories. The PSP Daily's design is rounded out with a rainproof zipper and dual rubber SLAPPA logo pulls for an all-inclusive and sleek PSP storage case.
Features :- xEVA outer shell with patent pvc design
- Water resistant zipper with 2 pulls containing rubber SLAPPA logo grips
- Storage divider with 2 cargo net storage pockets (ideal for storing 2 Universal Media Discs)
- Cargo net storage pocket inside the case cover (ideal for storing headphones and remote control)
- Xtra-wide elastic band for ultra-secure PSP storage
- D-ring with removable carabineer clip for EZ transport
- Adjustable Velcro storage strap for multiple transport options
- Case Dimensions: 4" (w), 7.5"(h), 2"(d)
Quality/Usability : The SLAPPA HardBody Daily Case is a closed-style case that can carry the PSP, two UMDs, and some accessories such as headphones, extra batteries, etc.
The case itself features a graphite and patent PVC outer design over a xEVA HardBody shell similar to that of SLAPPA's Hardbody Complete Case.
The protection of the PSP, UMDs and accessories are sturdy. The PSP compartment is lined with soft fabric and is secured with a large elastic band. The middle divider stores up to two UMDs. In front of the divider is a cargo net storage. In this, you can store your headphones, remotes, spare batteries, memory sticks or whatever you can fit in there.
Conclusion : Overall, this case is good. It stores two UMDs and has an extra area to store accessories. The size is portable enough but not something you can fit into your pants pocket. Not to mention, you will not be able to play your PSP while it is in the case. You'll have to take it out.
