Have you been looking for Monster Cable component cables for your Nintendo Wii and havent been able to find it? Well thats because Monster Cable hasnt released them.
Apparently, Monster was initially going to pass on making this cable for the Wii, but after seeing the tremendous success of Nintendo's new console they decided to move forward. The image attached is of a working pre-production component cable.
No word on the cost or when it might hit, but it looks quite sturdy. Of course, this isn't the final version, it's still needing those final Monster touches.

Remember seeing that prototype light gun attachment for the Wii at last year's E3 convention? It featured a 'Zapper' style accessory which took the form of a light gun with a slot to place the Wii Remote and Nunchuk? Well GameStop seems to have the answer to that. They have listed a placeholder of a light gun accessory called the Wii Blaster. But whether the Wii Blaster is in fact the Zapper shown at the convention or an entirely different accessory remains to be seen.
The retailer's listing includes a price point of $19.99 and expected ship date of May 1, 2007, but makes no mention of who is developing the accessory and fails to provide a picture of the unit.

Most if not all of you may know already, as of April 3rd, Sony had dropped the price of the PSP Core Pack from $199.99 to $169.99. I'll just let the news speak for itself.
The PlayStation Portable was released in North America just over two years ago, and to mark the occasion, Sony is dropping the price on the bare-bones package of its gaming handheld. Effective today, the PSP Core Pack (a system with AC adaptor and battery) retails for $169.99, a $30 drop from its previous price point of $199.99.
This is the first price drop for a system package in the PSP line. While the original $249.99 Value Pack was replaced by the $199.99 Core Pack, part of the cost reduction was due to Sony's leaving out accessories like the 32MB memory card.
Analysts welcomed the news, with Lazard Capital Markets' Colin Sebastian saying it should be a shot in the arm for the system.
"We expect a modest step-up in PSP unit sales during an otherwise seasonally slower period for the video game industry," Sebastian said in a note to investors today. "We note that a Wal-Mart promotion on Black Friday last year generated significant sales volume for the PSP at a discounted price of $169, providing one indication of potential consumer demand."
In his own note to investors, Pacific Crest Securities' Evan Wilson said that the system has had trouble meeting sales expectations since its launch, in large part because of its price, and that the price cut should help address that. However, Wilson said the move will likely have a limited effect on the company's finances.
Will this drive the sales of the PSP? How will it do now with the new price and more competitive price? ($30 more then Nintendo's DS Lite)

Nintendo does not want modchips invading their little white box.
In an attempt to throw off the persistent efforts of hackers to modify Wii consoles, Nintendo has altered the circuit layout of the system's newest models. Reportedly, these modifcations, which are undetectable through the system's performance itself, make it harder to modify the console without causing permanent damage to it.
These alterations have not stopped some people from attempting to mod the system, however; according to retail channels in Hong Kong, a new version of the Wii modchip may be available within a month. Many of these parties are also speculating about another modification Nintendo may employ, entitled BGA (ball grid array). Such a technique would greatly lengthen the amount of time it would take to craft another modchip to about four months, assumably reducing the number of people who would attempt such a thing.
